  • Thanks for these answers.

About the « deck verified » part, I was only seeing it on the Deck, but now that I’ve checked it’s kind of hidden when you go to the store with Firefox. So that’s one problem solved.

  • Yeah for now I’ve been using a lot before buying games, but it didn’t give me any information about all of my questions.

Still it’s a great ressource for any compatibility issue.

I’d say it should even be implemented into Steam OS without ressorting to a plugin.

  • Interesting post.

I’ve always been really interested about immutable distros, but I haven’t broken my Fedora Workstation 42 yet, so I won’t switch until I do.

What would be a game changer for me is a distro that you could easily replicate (settings, apps and data) from one computer to another. From what I know Nix is the closest thing but it ain’t easy to approach..

  • It is your right not to enjoy Firefox and no one can tell you not to.

Personnaly, I’m really happy with Firefox for now even if I’m hearing that Mozilla is taking some decisions I don’t like.

I plan on using Firefox as long as there is nothing better with similar value to mine.

  • I’ve had something like this on a Playstation 3 controller a while ago.

It was a problem with some foam which got thinner with age and a contact patch.

I don’t know if the same thing could apply to a few years old Steam Deck, but the symptoms were exactly the same.

  • I guess for arcade games it’s logical, but it doesn’t apply to games like Heavy Rain, Last Of Us, Uncharted or Final Fantasy.

But I guess every one behaves differently and enjoys different things.

I’m just worried when I see my 8 year old son trying a new game every time he faces a challenge in the previous one.

  • Well for me it’s like starting 40 books, 40 movies or 40 songs and not finishing them.

If it’s a story driven game, I would never picture myself not finishing it unless I don’t enjoy it.

Also I see the starting something and not finishing it as a result of the short attention spans generation, but I might be getting old at 38😅

  • Well I’m happy for you if owning so many games makes you happy as it supports a hobby I love.

Personnaly, I think that not finishing so many of your games shows some kind of problem, but I’m not a psychologist. Owning so many too..

I might even have the inverted problem as I feel like it’s an obligation for me to finish a game unless I don’t like it.

  • As the Steam Deck isn’t new and is apparently struggling with some AAÀs, that’s why I got a used Steam Deck 2 months ago to run alongside my PS5.

I really don’t regret the move as I can play every future AAA I could want on the Playstation and so many games (including older AAÀs) on the Steam Deck.

For me it’s the perfect combo at under 1000.-(around 1000$).

  • Agreed but you can play only offline without missing on much. I currently have the ps plus for a few more months, but I’m dropping it as the only one playing online is my son and hés playing fortnite.

But, if you’re an online player, it’s gonna be cheaper to play on pc.

  • Well I bought my ps5 a while ago, but I think that despite the price increase, it’s still cheaper than a comparable PC.

As for the no fuss experience, my Steam Deck, which I love and have had for a few month, has already given more to tinker and solve than my ps5 in a few years.

I just think that the Playstation experience isn’t as good and cheap as it used to be compared to PC.
