Commercial Real Estate Lending - Portfolio Management. I monitor loans for losses and collect periodic financial statements. I hate it. I used to do business loan underwriting and trying to get back into that. Had a dream job lined up but ended up failing the background check because of a bankruptcy 6 years ago.
landlords did start to sell
while housing stock in general got noticeably reduced
I'm not sure how those two things can coexist. So landlords started selling but then nobody that owned just one property sold so despite the influx of properties being listed for sale, the stock reduced? So there's fewer rental units which has people trying to get into them but there aren't more people purchasing the properties?
Yeah, I got the conditioning during college. Work 32 hours a week while taking 15 credits, you won't have time for sleep. Work 7:30am-4pm MWF, go right to campus for some homework and dinner before class 6pm-9pm. Then go home and do homework/sleep. Tu/Tr have class from 10am-2pm and work 3pm-7pm and then work on homework, housework, gym. You won't have the energy to stay up late.
I genuinely don't know how people are having their web browser use so much ram. How many tabs do you have open? Even at work where I run a commercial loan origination system and our core customer system in a web browser, at most I'll have 15-20 tabs open. I don't know how people are having dozens and dozens of tabs open that they're using 64 gb of RAM.
Yeah I've actually been happy with the clothes I've gotten from Target too. Their All In Motion line or whatever it is has been nice for quarterzips for golfing. Found 32 degrees stuff at Costco and their website has all the basics I need (Polos/Casual slacks/underwear/socks) for cheap and its comfortable.
I've ended up shifting a lot of stuff back to brick and mortar just because Amazon can't be trusted on anything that isn't a brand you already know. I was looking for gym shorts with the sewn in compression shorts and all of it was just the exact same image under many stupid brands. Just a quick glance the same image is being used by Leidowei, Surenow, NELEUS, Ultra Performance, Aolesy, JWJ, Born Tough, Pudolla. Like how can you trust any of those? Went to Dicks and just bought their in store brand (DSG) and they've been working out great. Plus I can actually inspect them and try them on before buying. Unless you're buying a known brand/commodity, Amazon is just filled with drop shippers and you can't trust their reviews at all. We're letting our Amazon Prime membership go this year because I just don't need it anymore.
Yeah the only real reason for Reddit for me anymore is sports discourse. E.g. the Baltimore Orioles are my MLB team. /r/Orioles on reddit has almost 80k members. Currently on the page there's 62 people actively in the sub and that's at 10am on a Wednesday, not during a game. The two Orioles communities on lemmy are Orioles@fanaticus.social and Baltimore Orioles@lemmy.world and they have 133 and 131 subscribers, respectively. There's a bot posting game day threads and 0 comments in all of them. The only post not by a game day bot was 21 days ago.
I was so pumped to see them in concert. Unfortunately, Matt Tong (their drummer) suffered a collapsed lung when opening for Panic! At the Disco. The show was going to be Bloc Party, Jacks Mannequin, Panic! At the Disco. I was really excited to see Bloc Party & Jacks and Panic! wasn't a bad option to see too (though their sound mixer was awful and it sounded like shit). Instead of Bloc Party, we got Plain White Tees. Just a brutal replacement.
Go to about:config - find option browser.tabs.closeWindowWithLastTab - set to false. If you're only using the close tab button, it will never close out of the program. If you're closing a lot of windows using the window control though that won't really help.
Yes. They have some flaws. I'm willing to admit that but to say they're shitty when they have fewer problems than pretty much any American built vehicle is being disingenuous. Saying one experience doesn't make a rule and then following that up with anecdotal evidence from a couple people you know as proof is also disingenuous. I'm not saying they make the best vehicles on the road. I'd probably give that notch to Toyota. My point isn't to say that they're the best manufacturer out there but to call them shitty isn't being honest. They have far fewer problems than their American made counterparts. Toyota and Honda are going to be better options but to say Hyundai are shitty is not accurate.
Yeah, to call them shitty is disingenuous. They're a solid brand at an affordable price which makes them pretty darn good for most Americans. And they still refused to actually point to any actual data about them being a bad brand. Just said JD Power is bad.
Okay. Well looking at brand reliability numbers from JD Power, they're 8th. (Genesis which is their premium line is 2nd).

Where's your data to back up your meaningless claims?
Have clearly never owned a Hyundai. My mom had a cheapo Hyundai Accent that she drove until it hit 300k miles. She only upgraded because she got tired of manual transmission, hand crank windows, and no power locks.
We finally got a viable replacement for Comcast internet. I changed the moment I was able to and couldn't be happier. 1.2Gbps symmetrical connection for $85 a month. That plus YouTube TV is $70 cheaper than what I was paying Comcast for their garbage service that had constant outages. Before, the only options were mobile internet or Verizon DSL.
I think they were referencing Tom Morello calling out a critic about it. -- https://www.instagram.com/p/BcjjnBqAZOV/?utm_source=ig_embed
davez67 -- "Another succesful [sic] musician instantly becomes a political expert."
tommorello -- "@davez67 One does not have to be an honors grad in political science from Harvard University to recognize the unethical and inhumane nature of this administration but well, I happen to be an honors grad in political science from harvard University so I can confirm that for you."
Either that, or they're an idiot.
Has anyone pointed out that 13 x 28 is only 364? You're completely missing a day and even if you weren't, leap years would still exist.
I said to buy a laser printer and you're complaining about ink. Tell me you don't understand what we're talking about without telling me. I last spent $60 on toner in 2019 and the printer still works great. 5 years of printing when I need it is worth the cost instead of driving to staples every time even though it's literally 2 min away.
A simple black/white laser printer for documents and more importantly, shipping labels. It would be annoying for anything that you're returning to have to print out the packing slip and label at the local shop. Then anything that you actually need color or quality printing, just send it out to get printed at the local shop.
I don't have access to my music torrent site anymore due to the first one shutting down (W.CD) and then going idle on the other one for years. Don't feel like re-downloading everything either since I lost all my music in a hard drive crash. Could probably recover it from my Cowon X7 but don't know where the cable is for that anymore.
I find this to be an option with Movies/TV Shows but a struggle with Music. At least once my kids were older and listening to stuff. They were constantly asking for stuff to be downloaded, my mom and wife were asking for stuff, my brother, etc. Had a subsonic server set up and just got tired of actively managing it. Spotify isn't great but it works and it saves a headache. I just wish there was better options because I don't like the Spotify app. YouTube Music is even worse, especially since it subscribes to everything on YouTube too so all my subscriptions got jacked up.
