  • Do you know the meme with the knucklehead on the left at the bottom of the bell-curve, the smashed brain moron at the top, and the sage at the right?

With this comment you are very close to coming off as the smashed brain moron at the top of the curve.

Everyone has preferences, but your preferences do not map to you being superior in any way. And just as importantly - you are also a beginner to some people. It would serve you well to remember that.

  • Home insurance was once a ‘must.’ Now more homeowners are going without | Slammed by pricier policies and climate-driven natural disasters, more and more Americans are exposing themselves to risk
  • Don't forget us folks who built their little house themselves and can't find/afford insurance.

For me it was 'this house is too small to qualify under normal terms, you will have to pay ridiculous premiums'

420sqft isn't exactly a shed. But these companies are stuck in a different era.

    NCSOFT & Homecoming License Announcement

The private servers have been up a while. But it is always hard for fan projects to gain traction for devs, players, or donations, when the IP could be yanked at any time. NCSoft granting a license should provide one heck of a shot in the arm for this cult classic game.

    Little (fun)guy trapped by root

I thought this growth pattern was weird, and on inspection it seems like it pushed up past a tiny root that is now choking it.

I was thinking of going out his morning to cut the root out.

    What do the pros think?

It is that time of year again

Ok, you got me. These are from last year. But the mycelial networks are kicking into high gear right about now, and I'm getting antsy for some photo hunting.

    Anyone doing commissions?

I'm looking for a set of motorcycle saddlebags in the style of vintage horse riding gear.

Example below, but my 'perfect' version is quite a bit darker:

Happy birthday to me. I got myself a windshield!

I rode most of my life without a windshield, but when I bought my Indian it had a windshield on it that I swore I would tear off the second I got home.

But then I realized that after an hour plus ride my eyes had not watered once, my ears weren’t having ghost ringing, and my arms were just not tired…

When I picked up this bobber I knew I would want a windshield. But justifying the expense took a bit.

I have been riding it for a month or two without a shield now, and I had to wear earplugs so that the wind noise doesn’t make my tiniitus go nuts. Today was the first real ride with the screen on. And holy cow. I love this bike even more now.

Details: It is a madstad 20inch touring screen made for a triumph speedmaster. I modified it to fit the bobber by drilling some new holes, but otherwise I used the hardware and fasteners that came in the kit.

I can post some pics of the fitment if there is interest.

And last, but never least. My oldest friend - a 1973 Triumph Daytona 500 (bored out to almost 600)

This bike has been built and rebuilt too many times to count. I got it as a box of rusty parts when I was 15 years old, and have been working on it since.

I put thousands of KM on this old girl, but these days she spends most of her time resting. Other than a kick once in a while to hear hear rumble.

Right now I'm in the process of bobbing it with a bolt on kit. It will probably always come back to stock, but I have wanted to see it bobbed for 20+ years and didn't want to cut the frame.

    Motorcycling makes some strange bedfellows

This is the 2017 bobber I had when we lived in Switzerland. And my wife's 50th anniversary Vespa.

When we bought these nobody told me I couldn't bring them home to Canada. So when we came home we had to sell them both. I miss that bike every day. But recently got a new-to-me 2018 that I will mod until it looks just like that one.

    A chief in the wild

Just a simple shot of my 2003 chief vintage. This is the wifemobile. When solo I ride the 2018 triumph bobber from my previous post to this community.

    Went off-roading on the bobber

There is a little goat trail by the lake we live near. And I knew nobody was around so I got a little naughty and went touring around. Of course, I had to hop off and take some pictures.

An open letter to the idiot who stole my backpack on lower charlotte this morning.

[JUST VENTING - Nobody is actually going to find this or get hurt for having it...]

I hope it was worth your time. That backpack is worthless to you, but it was a collectable to me. And it is very recognizable.

It is a triumph motorcycles backpack that only came with one year of bikes. It was never sold to the public, and is no longer available. But it is still worthless for resale.

All that was in it was a bottle of pepsi and some random USB cables. But you did wreck my day, and my wife's. Since that was the bag that would have allowed me to get some groceries on the way home.

I have given 40 bucks each to a bunch of the folks at the mission with the promise of adding another 100 bucks to the person who finds it. 200 if they have proof they made you bleed.

If you would rather not get jumped by a pile of angry unhoused folks you should bring it back where you found it.

    Piece of shit.

[Edit to add: Come on folks. This is obviously a venting post, and nobody is going to bleed over this backpack that has almost certainly already been tossed in a garbage can somewhere.]
