If you want to prevent your TV from getting stolen just get a Trinitron, it's heavy as fuck and old enough where no thief would take thier time to steal it. Mine's 109lbs
I did exactly the same thing, I have a Galaxy Gear 4 but I stopped using it about 2 months after getting it. I got tired of it constantly vibrating over everything even after turning off all notifications on the watch. I got tired of going to look at the time only to see the "you've walked 10,000 steps congratulations!" screen. I work outside and always have my hands full, I can't just swipe it away, I need to see the time.
I wanted it for seeing the time and knowing who's calling me without having to dig my phone out of my pocket. Got a G-Shock that shows me time, date and day of the week and I haven't worn the Galaxy watch since. Added benefit is not having to charge the damn thing every night too.
My girlfriend has an iPhone, and the storage is full. We've been trying to get all her pictures transferred off to delete some of the older ones off the phone and holy fuck is it a pain in the ass. Move them to her MacBook? Pain in the ass because of how they setup their Photos app. Move to a flashdrive via a dongle? Pain in the ass because it downloads from who knows where and fills the storage back up before I can start the transfer. Connect to my Windows PC? Lmao yeah right.
So far I've just gotten Immich to backup all her pics to my server but due to the amount on her phone it takes forever then bugs out and stops transferring.
Surprisingly I'm in the US and it's off by default, at least for now. They'll toggle it on then claim it was an accident after they make a couple billion dollars.
My girlfriend speaks Portuguese natively so she helps me with it, but there's only so much she can do when my body also isn't accustomed to the nasal vowels, and I'm also an idiot lol
Once RiF announced it would shut down due to the API changes I made my account here. I only used Reddit on mobile so just staying on old.reddit wasn't an option. Tried a few different apps for Lemmy and landed on Sync since I can set it up as close to RiF as I could, but with improvements like sliding to up vote.
It's a much better place here, and I actually comment more here than I ever did on Reddit due to the toxicity and just getting buried by bot accounts. My account was 12 years old when I left, now I've been here over a year and don't plan on leaving any time soon. You're stuck with me now
Premium ads popped up a bit ago, there were several posts and articles about it. Apparently they're also testing different tiers of premium like Netflix.
I'm a Halo hoarder collector, and I think I only have 4 of those ugly Pop vinyls. They're all Halo ones but they don't have the dark soulless beady little eyes the rest of them do. Two of them were gifts anyway so I didn't give them much money.
Pretty simple, there's a fuse in the fuse box under the dash labeled DCM, just remove it. It's extremely simple and takes 3 minutes. The DCM has an 18650 backup battery so it'll stay powered for a short time but should die in a day or two and stop transmitting.
First thing I did when buying my '21 Toyota was remove the fuse giving power to the cellular modem. Is it still recording my data? Of course, but that's only a worry if I go to their dealership for service. If I ever need to actually do that (recalls for example) I'll remove the DCM module from the vehicle before bringing it in. There's a very good local shop near me that I'll bring it to for normal maintenance before letting Toyota plug in to the car and download my data.
Some vehicles this may not be possible, so if this concerns you, check forums about your vehicle if it is a moving spy machine before trying this because you might end up causing the vehicle to be put in limp mode because of some BS design choices.
