Yeah, in researching recipes, they're about 50/50 for and against adding fat. The hardliners say never to add fat as it's unnecessary, but others say add some lard or butter to increase the pliability. The ones I made are still fairly pliable, they have a crackly surface but don't actually crack or tear when folded.
Honestly the tortillas are the easiest part, the dough is easy to work with and not messy, as long as you have a tortilla press it only adds around 20 min to the total cook time.
Maybe you could freeze them? I haven't tried it, but I know they get moldy after like 24 hours if you try to make them ahead of time.
Yeah I've made them a few times before and each time I try adding more water, but still get the crackly surface, I think maybe my pan is not hot enough.
For the tortillas - corn masa, a pinch of salt, and enough hot water to form a soft, pliable (but not sticky) dough.
Filling was chili-lime marinated chicken, sour cream, mashed black beans, lettuce, oaxaca cheese, cilantro, & a generous drizzle of Valentina hot sauce.
I can second the Duluth recommendation, I get half my stuff there. Their pants fit me great.
OneBone It's not the cheapest, but all their stuff is made specifically to fit big guys. Their shirts generally have longer cuts that keep them from riding up or feeling too short. Be sure to check their size chart to get your specific cut as their sizing is non-standard.
Good in the sense that reduced production will lead to marginally lower emissions, but bad in terms of price at the pump.
the cops are outlandishly and cartoonishly evil
We keep hoping it isn't true, and continue to be proven wrong.
Only got one question for ya here fellas, can it fuck?
Behind this 100%, target practice with firearms should be done on private property only. Went on a hike yesterday in a state park and it was completely ruined by the gun idiots mag-dumping over and over and over. The sound carries for miles.
I'm sure they're great in bed, considering as soon as they pull the thing out they're ready to just blow their entire wad all over the place.
Sure! It's from America's test kitchen, their website is paywalled, so here's a screenshot.
Yeah, the peaks got a bit charred in places, lessons learned for next time. Still think it came out pretty good for my first try. Plus it was delicious.
And then, you shut the fuck up.
Everything sour is acidic, the sour taste comes from the hydrogen ions (protons) donated by acids blocking the potassium ions leaving your taste buds, this creates a depolarization and opens voltage gated calcium channels, the influx of which causes neurotransmitter release. Sour gums/candies don't contain Acetic acid (vinegar) but instead Citric acid and sometimes Malic acid.
I've found this is only true if you eat at the restaurant, there is a very short timer that starts as soon as your food comes out, any longer than that and the cheese starts to coagulate and the fries get cold and tough.
Back then everyone smoked 100 cigarettes everyday.
I spent the better part of the last decade in a good deal of pain due to an undiagnosed spinal injury in my neck. In the 4-5 months leading up to having surgery, the pain and muscle spasms were so bad I couldn't stand or walk on my own, put on my own clothes, or take care of myself. I was severely suicidally depressed, extremely overweight, and jobless.
In July of 2022 I was finally able to get approved for surgery (I had to wait 3 months for an MRI), my surgeon performed a corpectomy (removal of the vertebral body) of my C5-C6 vertebrae and fused C4-C7. I spent the next 3 months in a neck brace, doing rehab and physical therapy and decided that this was going to be the turning point in my life.
In the 9 months since I got the brace off, we've been eating better (the hardest one) and I lift weights 2x per week for about 1.5 hrs and walk 3x per week for about 45 min. I've lost about 40 lbs so far and I can definitely see changes in my physique for the first time. I have a long way to go, but I makes me proud to see how far I have come.
But to answer to question, yesterday I went on a 4.5 mile hike up a mountain with a friend and was able to complete it all. My feet are quite sore today, but I'm really proud of myself for being able to do something like that after being in such bad condition.
I'm a progressive living in a red state and I would love to leave, but who has the money or connections to just fucking move states? Like who the hell do I know in Washington state? And because the cost of living tends to be higher in blue states, it's impossible to save enough to move to one of those areas from fucking Arkansas.
