Samoa Joe HOOK, and Shibata challenging Chris Jericho, Big Bill, and Bryan Keith to a trios match. Just what Forbidden Door needed.

  • Seems like there's a lot of purely AEW matches for Forbidden Door this year.

      Edit: All I want out of Forbidden Door is X number of matches where it's AEW vs NJPW/Stardom. I don't care if the card ends up with 1 singles match and 9 8-man tags, just give me AEW vs NJPW/Stardom.

      Don't bring in other companies. Don't fill the card with Collision-filler. I have no hate for CMLL but give them their own Forbidden Door show where it's AEW vs CMLL people per above, and stop shoving in filler you (TK) forgot to book on TV.

      Mark Briscoe vs. Konosuke Takeshita vs. Lio Rush vs. Jack Perry vs. Dante Martin vs. ???

      AEW TBS Title / NJPW STRONG Women's Title Match
      Mercedes Mone (c) vs. Stephanie Vaquer (c)

      IWGP World Heavyweight Title Match

      2 CMLL vs AEW
      4 AEW vs NJPW/Stardom
      3 AEW vs AEW

      So CMLL gets 2 loses cause neither Hechicero nor Vaquer are gonna win.

      3 AEW matches whose only tenuous grasp of the theme of 'forbidden door' is that Ospreay used to work for NJPW, Shibata used to work for NJPW, and in the other match you may have the mystery opponent be from NJPW/CMLL (tho they're losing by default in that line up, and I'm not counting Lio Rush as an NJPW 'guy). Both great matches for a PPV. Both shit-poor matches for a Forbidden Door PPV.

      4 AEW/NJPW-Stardom matches, all 4 of which will be bangers I am 100% sure.

      Whereas they could have 4 multi-man/woman tag matches, 4+ singles, have them be all AEW vs NJPW-Stardom (or again all AEW vs CMLL on a different show) and at least I know I'd enjoy it more.

      • I don't mind having CMLL involved (though I agree, a separate cross promotion show with then would be better), but I at least would want the show to be all interpromotional matches. Let's face it, for those 3 AEW matches, the door ain't that forbidden.
