literally every time i read an article about ukraine im just filled with sadness, like the country's being bombed to shit while simultaneously being gutted by western "investors", an immense amount of weapons poured into the country, and america's going to bill them all for it once the wars over on top of losing what few ukrainian men in their 20s there still was. it feels like that thing parenti said about yugoslavia, where it was destroyed so utterly that it's remnants couldnt even stand as capitalist nations until decades later, just sources of cheap braindrain labour and places for passport bros to visit and sexually exploit the women there, even 25 years later and they still havent fully escaped from it.
Ok so if something bothers me because it’s fucked up and completely unjust I should just close my eyes and cover my ears and go la la la and it will go away
Ive had multiple people tell me things like “this world is a bad place. I can’t do anything about it so i’m not going to worry about it and focus on the good.” It’s an understandable stance to keep yourself sane, but it becomes obnoxious to point of me wanting to puncture their eyes with my thumbs when they become smug about it or confused why anyone would care about something. Of course, their idea of not caring is constantly butting in and offering their unsolicited takes and advice on the world and then become offended when you stare at them.
The people I interact with, they’re competent technically. They go out of their way to read and learn shit to do their jobs better lol. But when they explicitly tell me they don’t know some shit about a current event or historical event, I provide them with resources and the shit that comes out their mouths never change. Not even a “I read what you gave me and thought it was bullshit” - they quite literally never touch it at all. All the more proof that they don’t actually care about the shit they complain about, or that it’s pretty clear what side they’re on but too much of a coward to state it.
Pimakhov’s bucket hat, Pikhota’s wraparound sunglasses and the pair’s jovial countenance sometimes give them the feel of a comedy double act
Pimakhov was a used car salesman before the full-scale invasion in 2022; Pikhota was working on a construction site in Israel and rushed back to Ukraine when war broke out
