IMO all I’ve seen are massive layoffs in tech so, I’m all set with what Biden is offering. There was no attempt to fix the actual problem with student loans which is that they’re a broken system, he just forgave a portion of the people who had issues today, which means we’ll have the same issues later again.
Trump was only better in the sense that at the time his economy was great to get a job in, in tech, in the US.
The student loan debts relief plans were all shot down by republicans and the ultra right wing supreme court.
Any actual fixes need to be passed by congress, any meaningful legislation is categorically opposed by republicans and their corporate interests. Even with a democratic majority, the republicans abuse the filibuster and procedural blocks to avoid passing any legislation.
Trump inherited a prosperous economy from Obama and managed to rack up the largest deficit in history via his tax cuts and refusal to fully staff or fund various government agencies. Including the NSC Pandemic Early Warning program that existed to provide critical supplies and logistics 2 months before the Covid19 pandemic!
On top of that, he printed trillions of dollars in relief checks WITH HIS FUCKING NAME ON THEM! That has led to inflation and corporate price gouging!
Trumps tax cuts are now starting to come into effect for the middle class and will continue into the next president’s term as they will continue to increase the deficit and raise taxes on the middle class. Meanwhile, the tax cuts to the wealthiest individuals and corporations are at an all time low, permanently.

I may not like Biden, but he has done as best as he can to fix the steaming pile of shit Trump left after his administration. If you are going to blame anyone, it is congress, the Republican controlled courts and local state governments.

According to the ideals of the system and the all-important "checks and balances," the president should be able to "check" the legislative branch, correct? The president can either directly veto legislation created by Congress or "pocket veto" legislation by simply neglecting to sign it into law.
