I never understood why they would make the people, who had to ride this, start at the bottom. Just make the start at the top so they don't have the most agonising roller coaster ascending of their lives. wth
I read that it would give the riders time to think things over, in case they realized they didn't want to die. The coaster would allow for those who change their mind to get off and descend once reaching the top of the hill, I think there was supposed to be a button riders could hit to signal the operator.
It was never meant to be built. It was a thought experiment. You shouting here shows the thought affected you in some way - that was one of the points of the idea.
But no, nobody ever expected this thing to be ever built, much less for anyone to ride it.
But. They have to get up somehow. So even if it was an elevator or escalator, it would still be their final ascension and potentially nerve wracking.
Can only think one way out of this... Maybe if the participant was anesthesia'd. Then one is suddenly awakened on top of this rollercoaster of doom, slowly watching the end come near. Each loop, closer to death.
(That's how I feel most days 🙃)
OPs function is indeed the Weierstrass function, but the "rollercoaster" here isn't a function at all, since there are multiple values per element, isn't it?
Ah my bad, I did not see the comment had a picture attached. There's probably a mathematical way to derive the shape of the euthanasia coaster as well, but I don't know.
