I remember in 1999 when all computer manufacturers dramatically raised prices following an earthquake to knocked out RAM manufacturers. I was working part time at CompUSA while taking classes. Apple machines rose by ~$500, but it was an industry-wide adjustment.
Guess I mossed the boat on cheap RAM.
