I get the idea that the club is more important than the player, and for that reason the German teams have the team name above the number and the player name below. But, that doesn't seem to take into account how cameras often frame their shots, where the bottom part of the shirt isn't visible.
7 0 ReplyLovely Nketiah, literally just a preseason friendly and he's pressing every chance he gets
7 0 ReplyNwaneri looks damn good for a 16 year old
7 0 ReplyI know the chances are slim, but I'd love to see Balogun stay at this club
6 0 ReplyTierney is defensively sound. We'll need him at left back when Zinchenko can't keep up.
6 0 ReplyBen white looking great
5 0 ReplySaka is pure quality. He never stops
5 0 ReplyOof, a "play out of the back" goal. Well played Nurnburg.
5 0 ReplyMyles Lewis-Skelly (playing wearing 59) is only 16 and also doesn't look out of place in this team.
4 0 ReplyBalogun seems to be coming on (26) so it looks like the line-up will now be:
GK: 31. Hein
RB: 17. Cedric
RCB: 4. White
LCB: 6. Gabriel
LB: 3. TierneyDM: 20. Jorginho
RCM: 21. Vieira LCM: 29. HavertzLW: 26. Balogun
CF. 9. Jesus
LW. 14. Nketiah4 0 ReplySo, the lineup seems to be:
GK: 1. Ramsdale
RB: 4. White
RCB: 2. Saliba
LCB: 6. Gabriel
LB: 15. Kiwior (shifting into central midfield like Zinchenko)DM: 5. Partey
RCM: 21. Vieira
LCM: 19. TrossardRW: 7. Saka
CF: 14. Nketiah
LW: 24. Nelson4 0 ReplyDidn't realize there was a chat function on lemmy, that's cool
4 0 ReplyThat free kick certainly was a free kick.
4 0 ReplyIt's a fucking friendly stop wrestling our players ffs
3 0 ReplyWow. A lot of tricky play to get the ball to the middle then it drops for Kiwior who tries an outside-of-the-foot left-footed shot from near the top of the D and hits an Arsenal player (Trossard?) (18 minutes in or so, for someone looking for a fun replay).
Interesting that Kiwior is in that position though. I guess Arsenal is going to play with the left fullback tucking in even when Zinchenko isn't playing.
3 0 ReplyGood thing the sun is setting. When it's in the sunny section of the pitch it's sometimes invisible.
3 0 ReplyI want to see havertz come on, let's see what he's got
3 0 ReplyWait what the fuck it's their free kick?
3 0 ReplyJust warmed up some rice for the second half 👀
3 0 ReplyGoing in at the start of the second half:
GK: 31. Hein
RB: 17. Cedric
LB: 3. TierneyDM: 20. Jorginho
CF: 9. Gabriel Jesus
??: 29. Havertz
3 0 ReplyLooking forward to see Viera get an actual preseason.
3 0 ReplyHein still developing his playing out from the back I see.
3 0 ReplyNwaneri calm down it's a friendly lol
3 0 ReplyTrusty playing like it's the WC final.
3 0 ReplyDid Hein save that followup? I need a replay! Lol
3 0 ReplyNwaneri my word
3 0 Replynot even the first minute of the season and someone's already injured
2 0 ReplyBalogun 👀
2 0 ReplyWas hoping Cedric would score there lol good run
2 0 ReplyOoooof.
2 0 ReplyPicture quality so bad I can’t say for sure who was last on the ball.
2 0 ReplyForgot trusty was even on the bench and he's now on the pitch so good lad
2 0 ReplyOh dear.
2 0 ReplyOops
2 0 ReplyBtw banger from Saka, hoping to see it again with better picture quality tomorrow on the Arsenal channel lol
2 0 ReplyFor the last 15 minutes, something like:
GK: 31. Hein
RB: 17. Cedric
RCB: 76. Walters
LCB: 32. Trusty
LB: 3. TierneyDM: 20. Jorginho
RCM: 59. Lewis-Skelly
LCM: 29. HavertzRW: 63. Nwaneri
CF: 26. Balogun
LW: 9. Jesus2 0 ReplyChecking to see how match threads work on Lemmy. I'm guessing not that well. 8 minutes in, Arsenal is up by 1 goal, and so far only 3 comments showing up for me.
3 1 ReplyOK, current team:
GK: 31. Hein
RB: 17. Cedric
RCB: 4. White
LCB: 32. Trusty
LB: 3. TierneyDM: 20. Jorginho
RCM: 63. Nwaneri
LCM: 29. HavertzRW: 26. Balogun
CF. 9. Jesus
LW. 14. Nketiah2 0 ReplyThis time last year the r/gunners match thread was writing off Turner and now we're wondering if he should be subbed on for a penalty shootout.
2 0 ReplyOK so... a tall, skinny Arsenal player wearing 29. I'm having Chamakh flashbacks, and not good ones.
2 0 ReplyNot seeing any new top comments for 5 min so just have to test, sorry.
2 0 ReplyMyles Lewis-Skelly goal incoming
2 0 ReplyI'm glad Hein is the 3rd option. He's not ready for big games.
2 0 ReplyFrontline is Jesus-Havertz-Balogun-LewisSkelly-Nwaneri I think? Interesting lol
2 0 ReplyGive Havertz some time, man needs to unlearn everything over the past few years
2 0 ReplyTierney, Jesus, and Hein on for Ramsdale, Saka and Kiwior
2 0 ReplyHAVERTZ IS ON THE PITCH
2 0 ReplyI am not worried at all when Tierney is 1v1 with the attacker.
2 0 ReplyJesus in the middle, Balogun on the right wing, Nketiah on the left (?)
2 0 ReplyAlso Jorginho and Cedric for Saliba and Partey
1 0 ReplyVieira on the right is interesting, allows for more rotations with Saka
1 0 ReplyHonestly forgot they gave Saliba the 2
1 0 ReplyWhy would you cut to Arteta like that with Nelson on the edge of the box lol, I know we've been there all game but Arteta wasn't bloody doing anything
1 0 ReplyRef looks like he'd be a good addition to Handsome FC, looks like FIFA's version of Ryan Reynolds
1 0 ReplyBalogun warming up now?
1 0 ReplyTierney and Trusty with the synchronised diving tackles right there
1 0 ReplyKiwior is doing that Zinchenko role really nicely, why the fuck was he up there when we needed him
1 0 ReplyHaving three strikers on the pitch feels so wrong
1 0 ReplyPost match thread next?
1 0 ReplyGood from Gabriel but that was not necessary lol
1 0 ReplyBalogun how do you miss that
1 0 ReplyMost formal arteta's been in ages, a polo shirt? In this weather?
1 0 ReplyJorgi?
1 0 ReplyGood shit from Walters right there
1 0 ReplyThought that shot from the corner rebound went in for a second
1 0 ReplyRandom thought: Nelson is our John the Baptist to Saka as Jesus — the guy we thought would be the star boy was like "there's this guy who's coming after me" and that's the guy that is actually the messiah
1 0 ReplyWalters and Lewis-Skelly for White and Eddie
