You just unlocked deeply buried memories of that Leapfrog Pentop Computer thing from the mid 2000s. I can't remember if I actually owned one or just got to use one, but I remember being captivated by it. Apparently the guy who developed it went on to found Lightscribe (which produces the pen you're probably talking about).
