Why would people believe this story without extremely strong evidence? We constantly get false stories but then believe the next headline.

Did you see the video earlier this week where the guy said they were going to overthrow the government and have God be the new standard of law (or something like that)? Just because he said the words doesnt mean it wasnt a joke or taken out of context. Seriously, I can think of three stories just from this week off the top of my head that were lies or misleading at best.
Because the only real difference between a conservative and a nazi is whether or not they're wearing an armband at that moment anymore, maybe?
