Actually feeding bread or any other human food is not good for Ducks/Gease etc. So please do not feed them human food. It really makes me angry and shows only ignorance towards animals.
and shows only ignorance towards animals.
I mean...yeah? Most people are ignorant of things like this because they don't know any better. I can't be particularly upset at some random park goer that doesn't know all the nutritional needs of a duck, because why would I assume that's knowledge they would have? Feeding ducks bread is sort-of ingrained in the public mind, it will take education and time to undo that.
I've seen signs up at some parks lately that explain this to people, and that's a start, but they need to be more widespread, and it will take time.
Showing compassion to strangers and not assuming ill will? Sir the Internet is going to have to ask you to leave. /S
Stale Bread Man is the real villain here.
Plot twist: he gave them protein bread, that's why they're all buff
Why is bread bad for ducks?
They can't get any nutrients from it, they get full on the bread and starve, the high carb content can also give them deformed wings.
Feed them chopped up salad, corn, rice, grapes, or bird seed.

It doesn't really have any nutritional value for them but it fills them up so they don't eat as much of the things that they should be eating to get proper nutrition.
Why did you upvote the first one and downvote the rest?
When i learned about bread years ago, i went outside with all the peas and goodies i could find.
The ducks approached me, waiting for some bread. I gave them peas and they did not understand what it was and refused to even inspect it.
It ended with me giving up, laying it on the ground and retreating. And even then, they did not bother to check...
That's the oddest thing. I had a friend who had some ducks as pets, and they were nearly as voracious as chickens in eating anything they could find, good, bad, or otherwise, even if it was new.
Worked for me.
You apparently fed some weird-ass ducks :)
They won't be spared 😔
RELEASE THE QUACKEN
Just be warned... he's a real party animal
Ding ding ding ding ding ding ding!
If this happens, maybe we should attempt to wake xkcd's Sheeple. Maybe it would be worse for us, but it can't be by much and the ducks wouldn't be able to have everything their own way either.
Quackening quackening, it's coming, quackening
We have awakened musta-quack-ish. All shall despair.
Awaken, awaken, awaken, awaken
Take the land, that must be taken
Awaken, awaken, awaken, awaken
Devour worlds, smite forsaken
CRUMBLINGS, CRUMBLINGS, IT'S COMING! CRUMBLINGS!
All I ever wanted to do is eat your fries...
Attack on Quacking
I’m glad he got hugged by a duck when he was feeling down.
