Te Pāti Māori plans protests across the North Island as Parliament restarts
The party is asking iwi and supporters to take to the streets on Tuesday morning, as MPs arrive in Wellington.

Although refusing to swear allegiance to the king is somewhat understandable, but they would prefer to swear on the treaty, which makes them subjects of the crown anyway?
I think the whole point of the treaty is that doesn't make them subjects of the crown. As I understand it the argument goes that the treaty provides them with the rights and responsibilities of subjects but importantly they retain tino rangatiratanga, making them partners with the crown in the establishment of the nation.
This kind of thing would ideally be posted to NZ politics.
