The bottom right is great. Modern, warm, enough contrast, ... . Imho going with plain blue or green backgrounds are becoming a cliche in KDE and tbh a little bit old-fashioned.

Top left (especially), or bottom left I think.. Top left is elegant, has a variety of hues and not just plain blue, modern.. I think it would suit a wide range of consumers ¯_(ツ)_/¯

I like top left the best, but honestly almost all wallpapers are too bright for me. I want something really dark. I dislike feeling blinded at night when I close all my software

Top left looks best as a default wallpaper in my opinion. Nice mix of colours, not too bright or too dark, and generally seems appealing while not being too distracting.

I like bottom right the most, but it does't really feel like a default wallpaper as much as top left. Middle right feels like part of a tiling WM with custom colors more than a default for a DE.

Hmm~ I would say that the bottom right one caught my eye, but I would go with the top left one as the default wallpaper. It looks sophisticated and clean. It depends on the first impression you want to give.

@kde@floss.social @kde@lemmy.kde.social The first (Waves) one is spot on, balanced on colours, closer to previous plasma wallpapers, I would be very happy if that's the default! Flow is also good, the rest, while interesting, are not qualified as good wallpaper. I know I'm probably a rare breed these days, who still uses desktop for actually storing things there and that affects my wallpaper choice a lot.

The only wallpaper I really liked after all these years is Haenau. Is it going to be dropped in 6? I really like simply themes, but the subtle constant change is a nice to have. It works with light AND dark themes.

I'll have to say the style of bottom left gives a real sense of depth. And its a good size to be seen from afar on like a lockscreen, which is generally the only time my background is visible anyway.
