Teardown out today, November 15, all other titles available from November 21.
What do you think about it?
Personally, I am about 80-90% convinced I don't need to renew my PS+ sub. I still have a few months left, so I may change the mind by then, but chances seem low right now.
This selection is not good and completely fails to justify, again, the price hike (nothing specifically against the games themselves, but as a whole this selection is not indicative of $135 annual value). But I still love the ability to trial a bunch of games I certainly wouldn't commit to paying for in full.
I just finished BG3 for the second time, and coming out of that I wanted something shorter and more relaxed. So I tried Omno and enjoyed it fine. Kind of perfect for what I was looking for in that moment, but overall not hugely impressed. Tried Haven and dropped it after an hour. Finally tried Slay the Spire which I would never have paid for (never been a card game person) and am still interested after a couple hours. Also giving Sniper Elite 5 a shot, which I always misunderstood as like a Flight Simulator type game but for sniping. But it's pretty fun and reminds me a lot of PS3-era action games (e.g., The Saboteur, Splinter Cell: Conviction).
I can't do that kind of thing without a subscription, and I really enjoy being able to. But I also think the price hike is absurd and I hate being ripped off like this. I dunno, I'm conflicted.
Slay the Spire is a masterpiece. It takes time to really get it. If you want to learn more about it, which makes the game way more enjoyable, look up Baalord on YouTube. He has been playing the game for years. He also explains his decision making process so that you get the inners of the game and why so many people love the game so much. I suck at the game but have been able to get some winning runs and it feels so good when it finally clicks.
If you can afford the sub, and you think it worth the price for you, there's nothing wrong with keeping it.
Personally, this is one of the thing that is keeping me from being 100% sure I want to discontinue, but even with that I am leaning towards cancelling it... let's see. I still have a few months to decide.
I'm about done with Ghost of Tsushima, gonna play Forbidden West next, and then I'll be done with the games I really wanted to play. After that, I won't really have a reason to renew at the new price.
I'm looking forward to playing Teardown and Grandia. I might try Dragon's Dogma if I get done with SpiderMan 2 this month. December is slow and I have to get caught up before the end of January.
