So I installed Signal messenger and later needed pulse audio and lsp plugins. Now the search in the menu no longer finds Signal in search. :-( I have to go to "Internet -> Signal" to open it.
How to fix this?
I had the same issue and used MenuLibre to hide the entire lsp directory.

But those aren't a part of the PulseAudio package in general - at least from what I know. Looks more like LADSPA and CALF plugins to me. Maybe you've installed them accidentally?
i needed pulse audio and those plugins to get some shitty monitor to work and not sound too bad. lsp plugins was the only thing that worked.
I'm going to install Linux Mint on a VM and see what's going wrong with yours. But when you're dealing with older native package managers, you'll come across packages that litter your desktop. This isn't the case with modern ones like NixOS or Guix, however. I see that you're adhering to UNIX philosophy, in which case, you should use independent distros like Devuan, Hyperbola, etc.
I would uninstall and use the flatpak. Way easier than solving dependencie issues
Installing an optional dependency for an optional feature is hard? What happened to Linux users?
