Personally I use public trackers the most and only recently private trackers for stuff in my native language.
I did setup i2p a few days ago and currently have only downloaded around ~1GB. Most of my bandwith (143 GB in / 135.5 GB out) has come from just having it in the background 24/7.
The advantages of usenet don't really apply to me (longer retention, faster speeds, no vpn)
Streaming i find useful for checking if something is worth downloading
Yeah I'm basically back to 2012 with public torrents and ripping from streaming websites I don't trust very well. And downloading to an external hard drive that very well might die on me and ruin my day eventually.
But now I have a jellyfin server to watch it on, so I got that going for me, which is nice.
Mostly just streaming, maybe some direct downloads i like paywalled / premium OC. I couldn't really afford either anyway so I can't say I feel too bad about it. If VoD providers wouldn't have turned out to be so garbage I might've gotten one of them, but not if that means I can't watch everything anyway. Like what's the point? I'm not gonna subscribe to everyone or hop around services. Exclusive content kinda killed them in my eyes.
From how many people talk about real-debrid I would've thought it'd see more usage. But I also prefer having media stored by me instead of streaming. With Jellyfin it's easier to access with multiple devices.
I didn't know whether downloading music from yt using NewPipe would be considered DDL, so I just put "Other" for that. I put streaming only because that's how I've been trying to keep up on Pokemon Horizons.
So I set up i2pd on my Android phone, but I'm not sure how to torrent over i2pd. Mostly I use a VPN on my phone with libretorrent. I used to seedbox most everything.
I have become a streaming junkie since I got a chromecast. I even stream pirated shit I already pirated and saved to a drive. Actually streaming pirated shit I already downloaded and saved to a drive years ago. I just hope certain apps remain available for this magic forever. I think it's key to own a dumb TV (not a smart TV). I don't need no 4K. Got me a Ch-cast HD. Got me some wi-fi. Got me some Stremio.
