Our work often leads to significant backlash, and we at The Onion are no strangers to receiving threats of legal action. While we generally dismiss them as the baseless accusations they are, we recently found an old cease-and-desist letter from the president’s personal attorney that has caused us to reexamine this policy.
Is the email itself real? The email doesn’t read satirical enough to me, and I would think if The Onion had written it, the boilerplate at the bottom would contain jokes.
You know you're dealing with a fuckwad when they send a letter like that to a publication like the Onion unironically, and act like it might not be laughed at uproariously.
That article is savage. They posted the email even with the PS claim on confidentiality. They humiliate the president through the article by pointing out a direct line to the president for a quid pro quo exchange.
