Nice, I liked the idea ever since Terry Pratchett built the disc world universe on the back of a giant turtle balancing on 4 elephants.
Seemed like such a cool idea! I wonder what the stats are on people who choose symbiosis with the creature and people who choose to exploit it. I only love animals from a distance, but I'm still too soft-hearted to choose to exploit this creature.
It's also just funny (a funny coincidence, not me having a problem with you posting it) seeing this posted to Lemmy because I learned about this from Reddit years ago and just recently unwishlisted it for reasons I do not remember.
- good old "let's do an evil playthrough", "oh i have the option to shoot them in the face and take their money, uhhh, welllllll maybe they'll be useful to me later, let's spare them...."
  
  I always love games that allow for evil playthroughs.
- Even though it's just a game, I am not down with abusing animals in-game.
  Not to mention that I have a dog, so I am into animals. :)
  
  Eh, it's pixels. I'm no murderer for drowning my Sims, same logic should extend to whether we call those who exploit this in-game creature animal abusers. I am too softhearted for it, but I'd imagine many animal lovers who treat their pets well might choose that option. Maybe they are completionists! Maybe fictional suffering, especially the suffering of a creature that does not represent something we have in real life, does not get them the same way the suffering of their real live pet would. I cry at movies, others do not.
  Although I do get if watching it feels bad. Being okay with others doing something in theory does not mean you have to like watching or participating.
This looks really neat!
- It's a cool and unique game.
  I have about 15 hours in early access. The early and mid-game are really fun, I do find the late game tends to meander a bit.
  I would still recommend it.
OK, definitely a very cool looking game, but god damn, that is some, uh… very blatant ripping off of studio Ghibli. I’m not just talking art style, there are actual costume designs and whole scenes lifted in their entirety from Nausicaa. It’s hard to even complain because if you’re going to rip anything off, Nausicaa is a damn good choice; it’s probably Miyazaki’s most underrated movie. But it’s definitely a tad egregious. Feels like they wanted to make a Nausicaa game and then couldn’t get the rights.
- While it's clearly inspired by Ghibli (and Nausicaa), in-game it doesn't feel egrarious.
  I think the intro trailer (it wasn't available during EA) makes it seem like a bigger issue than it is.
  At any rate, the actually made their own design, it's not just an AI slop rip-off.
