Latina Who Voted for Trump Bursts Into Tears After Learning Her Entire Family is Going to Be Deported
Me when I see people being the victim of their own stupidity
“This is crazy, we voted for Trump, we trusted him, his word, what he promised Latinos,” she said.
I mean the guy promised he'll deport all undocumented immigrants
At least she made it harder for some trans people to use the bathroom! #winning
Never understood immigrant and Republican combo.
Thoughts and prayers anyways.
I know two AB 540 friends who are conservatives. One of them told me cause it was so easy to get in. So they kinda slip in and pull the ladder out. Selfish bastards
True conservatism in action.
It's easy to blame her, but, buuuut, it's not as if she had anyway to know that tRUMP was incompetent, abusive, untruthful, and racist.
Ok, fine, yeah he was like that in his first term as 'president'.
And, yeah, there was all that incompetence, abuse, lies, and loads of racism...oh so much racism...in the 5 or so decades before his 'presidency' (info that was/is easily found by a quick search on the internet) but is it really her fault that she willfully ignored the fat orange cunt? Is it?
I mean, yes, it is. Obviously it is completely her fault, and she should be haunted by what she's done.
Her fault, idiot. Not her family's fault
At which point, idiot, did I blame her family? Please point it out for everyone to see. I'll wait...
If you read the article you will notice that 46% of latinos voted trump. Also the article doesn't say only she voted for the orange pestilence.
People suffer and the worst for me is the people like her then going on social media seeking mental support for the clusterfuck she helped create. I feel sad for every member of the family who didn't vote for trump.
Anyone who actively voted trump in my eyes is directly responsible for so much suffering and more is to come. So no, no sympathy for trump voters because anyone could easily evaluate trump before they voted and he did nothing to hide what a asshole he is.
Hilarious!!! Look at her face get eaten!!! Nothing more satisfying to my liberal conscience... She'll learn from our wise memes and we'll definitely win next time! Kamalacaust 2028!!! \s \s \s
“This is crazy, we voted for Trump, we trusted him, his word, what he promised Latinos,” she said.
And what promises were those, exactly? What Trump promised latinos was to deport all the other latinos they don't like.
That's Trump's magic. He tells one group of people and says "I hate the same people you hate." Then he goes to another group of people and says the same thing. Eventually he's convinced everybody he hates everybody, but not themselves.
Yeah, but he does it on live TV. If they willfully ignored aaaaaallll of the signals... I hope they have the day they voted for.
I don't generally begrudge people for being misled, but I can't concern myself with their plight when all my effort is going to protecting my family from the danger they exposed all of us to.
The dems could have run a winning candidate. You don't blame them? Just the refugees who can't even vote?
danger they exposed all of us to.
Just the refugees who can't even vote?
Please take the time to read the posts to which you reply.
"we trusted him, his word, what he promised Latinos"
They were lied to. The Democrats took them for granted, and the GOP ran ads all over spanish speaking media... even in other countries.
He told them he was only going to deport serious criminals... he told english speaking people that they're all criminals, and all getting deported.
I mean, it's naive, but he didn't deport that many people during his first term... back then he was focused on building a wall and keeping people out.
Nah. He relied heavily on the misogyny and anti-queer bigotry of many Hispanic men. The people who were genuinely misled are not the majority; they just thought the trains would stop before they got to them.
It is more than naive. Willful ignorance. Trump was crystal clear about his views on immigrants. She knew exactly what she was doing.
I want to be sympathetic, but... even if she voted for him because he promised to only deport the serious criminals... what about the everything else he promised? What about his track record on just about any promise he's ever made?
The US would be a much better place if everyone who voted for Trump was deported.
Liberal fascism in action. How do you think we got here?
Everything I don't like is fascism.
I pity the country they are deported to.
El Salvador, Rwanda? These victims of imperialism deserve justice more than pity.
Russia?
Agreed we'd not lose anyone important
Boo goddamn motherfucking hoo. No sympathy for Trumpers
Liberal fascism in action. This is why we have Trump.
Ah yes, fascism is liberals' fault. You are very smart!
I hate to use this again but
Nobody is saying it's okay. The argument clearly being made here is that you can't have any sympathy for someone who gets exactly what they signed up for. Its not, "she voted for agent orange, so now I'm okay with unjust deportation." Being against ripping already marginalized and struggling families apart and not having sympathy for those who helped put in motion the very nightmare situation that their family is now now in are not a one or the other view to have.
No sympathy for those reaping what they sowed doesn't mean no sympathy for those deserving of it, ie. those in her family who did not vote for Trump who are now suffering because of a situation she helped cause.
Banned. Seems a bit much. Maybe I'm lacking context, I dunno. I'll just say I think it's fair to point out whenever there is collateral damage deserving of consideration, and I didn't feel insulted or anything by their post that is now removed.
If anything it's just motivation to do some introspection. We should take care that our inclination to react to news like this with righteous vengeance doesn't overshadow our empathy for and solidarity with other people that's at the core of why idiots and assholes voting a fascist rapist into power makes us feel this emotionally invested.
Is this your first time in Lemmy? It is all about the suffering porn, and everyone is equal unless they are a real human being with issues and complexities.
Hello, CGP Grey here, with a sheet of A4 paper, which is a special aspect ratio that remains the same shape when doubled in size to A3, or cut in half to A5, into quarters to A6 or eighths to A7. It's such a hypnotizing effect, that you can keep going...down...down...down...to the size of a bee, the size of the organs of the bee, the cells of those organs, the molecules of those cells. Just ten doublings down and the lights go out, as we hit the limits of anything that could be called human vision. Turning on magic science vision, we see DNA, the instructions of life, and the atoms that make it up. Falling through the electron shell and then twice as many doublings in scale as we've already gone we find the nucleus of the atom, tightly packed protons and neutrons, each made of three quarks, at which point we fall down, down and down and down to the basement of existence to reach the Planck length, the smallest distance the universe can contain, which hints at a reality pixel, which we probably shouldn't think about. At this scale, at the bottom of reality, there is...nothing here, except for the violin on which I shall play you a sad little tune.
Can we get the video. The pictures don't capture the hilarity fully
Liberal fascism in action. This is why we have Trump.
"We must come together to do something about this."
Kinda late for that now. You should've come together months ago to NOT elect Trump as your president. He didn't lie to you. He told you EXACTLY what he was going to do.
I hope you enjoy what you voted for.
Yeah I don't think that these people recognize that the only thing they deserve is to be made examples of.
I'm glad the Trump voters are getting hit harder and harder. They literally deserve it, and more.
“I hate that I voted for him. Now I fear for my family and their families. We must come together and do something about this,” she said.
Two in the thoughts, one in the prayers.
From the rest of the world that is now suffering because of your dumb ass, go fuck yourself.
Nice Shocker reference lmao
Time to bow down before the one you serve. You're gonna get what you fucking deserve
"Reasonable adults" are really upvoting this nonsense? smh.
God money's not looking for the cure
God money's not concerned about the sick among the pure
God money, let's go dancing on the backs of the bruised
God money's not one to choose
Pretty apt for the times...
The headline is a fucking lie according to the text inside.
However, I didn't know this:
Trump received about 46 percent of the Latino vote in the last election, according to The Washington Post—a record number for a Republican candidate.
Any non-whites that voted for Trump can go fuck themselves.
Any non-whites that voted for Trump can go fuck themselves.
Pretty sure they did go and got themselves fucked.
Any non-whites that voted for Trump can go fuck themselves.
Voting for Trump is fine based on skin color? WTF?
Any non-whites that voted for Trump can go fuck themselves.
Liberal racism in action. This is why we have Trump.
Everyone that voted for Cheeto Chimp can go Fuck themselves.
This article lacks a lot of internal consistency. Also, how is she "A Mexican living in America" if she voted? She either is an American citizen who voted legally, or a Mexican woman who admitted to voter fraud. I highly doubt the latter.
How is it a lie?
She's afraid they're going to be deported, they aren't being deported.
She has not learned her entire family is going to be deported.
Thoughts and prayers

Trump is working with MS-13
her whole family? surely she must be 'guilty' too, for 'aiding and abetting'
What did we learn here?
Nothing. They will learn absolutely nothing.
Well, what has Kamala Harris done to prevent the deportation of her family? Why didn't she warn the public more that trump would do this? In the end, it's her fault this happened!
If only someone could have warned them. 🤔
“This is crazy, we voted for Trump, we trusted him, his word, what he promised Latinos,” she said.
“I hate that I voted for him. Now I fear for my family and their families. We must come together and do something about this,” she said.
Trump told you he was going to do this, and you voted for him anyway. You're getting exactly what you voted for. We warned you, so fuck off. You have no one to blame but yourself.
Do they not remember that what transformed Trump form a joke candidate to the front runner in 2015 was when he was openly racist against Latinos? That was all it took. His white supporters hate Latinos. The anti-immigrant hysteria is just thinly disguised hatred of Latinos. How any Latino can support trump is just mind boggling to me.
Have the day you voted for. ^ _ ^
One thing that's always missing from these is people naming where they got their information from. Sure, she says that Trump said this or that, and all of us can easily say: well if course he didn't. We don't just have a problem with people not connecting the dots, we have major propaganda and misinformation issues. She probably read on Facebook or watched something on Tiktok that said this. Was it Russian operatives? Was it just Fox news? There are so many bad sources out there.
I think it boils down to education. There are studies that prove intelligent people are more left-wing, it's why the fascists hate education.
I lost an immigrant friend to maga. He got on with the anti-lgbtq rhetoric apparently, and also explained to me how many of the Caribbean island people and South American country folks, were all racist against one another. I guess no harm saying he was from Trinidad, and personally he disliked the Puerto Ricans and the Mexicans. Obviously I stopped talking to him.
Every so often I think about how he moved here when he was 14. He didnt get the same early education I did, and I truly believe it had a massive impact on how he chose to vote, that and fucking religion.
I tried to argue he was following his colonizers religion, but got no where.
I still dont understand why they all choose to follow the "white mans" religion, whos place of founding was on the otherside of the world, they stole so many South American cultures and replaced it with white washed religion. Im probably ignorant- but I dont understand that part at all.
Anyway, I sometimes wonder what the friend thinks today. But also, I don't care. Hate isn't supposed to have a home in the US, we're a melting pot. Thats what I was taught in like the 5th grade Ffs
The article headlines that they will be deported. The following paragraph switches that to could be deported and then the rest of the article gives no indication that even supports that. Also, someone whining on TikTok is hardly concrete. Pure shit article.
That said, if this is real, womp womp. Have the day you voted for, lady. You made a commitment for people here to live in more fear than they already endure. I don’t show a ton of empathy for those who exhibit none.
It also says former potus, and never dates the video. It's total shit.
Good eye
It doesn't even link to the tiktok video with the purported tears. This is copium.
That's probably because it was posted in January (tiktok link).
“This is crazy, we voted for Trump, we trusted him, his word, what he promised Latinos,” she said.
Luna added that many Latino workers at her job were now staying home because they were afraid of being arrested.
“I hate that I voted for him. Now I fear for my family and their families. We must come together and do something about this,” she said.
Article changed it to "could be deported" and said nothing about arrests etc. Sounds like clickbait.
Saw that bullshit.
Not a day goes by without me conjuring racist pikachu
Bye Felisha
Bye Felisha
She doesn't get deported. She's an American citizen. The hint that she is, is the fact that she could vote. Her family, who didn't vote, bear the consequences for people like her.
*Hispanic.
it's pretty obvious some people are just incapable to join the dots, even in simplest cases. what's sad it's that their voice counts as much as those who are capable. I don't have a solution to that so i stop talking now
Well, if 54% of the population can’t read at a grade 6 level, that may indicate a good place to start.
we have to educate. we have to fill the missing gaps that our broken system leaves intentionally in place
¯(ツ)/¯
Sometimes horrible things happen to people who least deserve it, but these people literally voted for what is happening
these people literally voted for what is happening
The family didn't. They wouldn't face deportation if they could vote.
I don't get it, the article calls her a Mexican woman, but also says that she voted for Trump. Wouldn't voting in a US federal election mean she's has to be a US American woman?
It's called racism. In America when you're not white the question of where you come from becomes. "no but really where are you from?" as in "what is your ancestry?"
This is important to Americans because they use race as a baseline for how to treat you.
This is why the lady in question is Mexican to Americans before being an American.
Just like how terms like asian american came into existence. Not fully accepted as american, not fully accepted as asian.
America is both a melting pot of cultures and also one of the most racist places to exist
In America, that's also a question white people get. Melting pot with several historically recent waves of mass migration tends to keep those questions alive.
You can be an American citizen who was born elsewhere...
Sure but by naturalising she would become a US American woman originally from Mexico. Unless you're allowed to retain original citizenship in which case she'd be a dual citizen of both. But just calling her a Mexican woman living in the USA does not make sense.
Because unless you're the right kind of white you'll never just be an "American", you'll always be a "something-American", but you don't have to come from the US to be an American, you just have be white and not have an accent.
You were born from Danish parents born in Denmark and have lived your whole life in the US so you don't have an accent? You're an American. You're a black dude whose ancestors were brought to the US by force 500 years ago and your family hasn't set foot outside the country since then? You're an African-American.
I guess her family was all trende hamasibantifa.
That sounds super real and super dangerous!!!
Good.
Hopefully she gets it into her thick head that this was the plan
Those tears taste sweet to me!!
Enjoy!
