The Congresswoman remained calm and repeated that she would be ‘happy’ to take her question during the event in Queens
So, not really chaos at all, then.
It’s just people trying to crush the United States through headlines. The only person who can do anything about Gaza is Trump. But yeah, let’s blame AOC… that makes sense.
Sorry but my spine only lets me punch down.
Exactly. Basically "I want to address your concerns, but it would be better addressed in the upcoming Q&A portion, so could you please hold your concerns until then? Thank you."
Thats what passes as "chaos" for Democrats, while MAGA Nazis are literally deliberately destroying the global economy for the benefit of Putin, and the world's Sociopathic Oligarchs.
One person asked a question outside of the Q&A portion and was eventually escorted out and they call it chaos? Even compare it to other town halls where people were tased.
Pure sensationist title.
The title is completely sensationalized.
There was one person who disrupted it by shouting about Gaza (a worthy thing to shout about), and just shouting that she was a liar. AOC maintained her decorum; the crowd became irritated with the disruption, and booed the person, who was shortly thereafter escorted out. Not arrested - escorted out. AOC then followed this up with:
“Here’s the deal, with town halls: I more than welcome people who disagree or are maybe even super pissed off at me for any issue to come but we have some ground rules here. Please wait for the QA because we don’t want to deprive all of our neighbors of the ability to have information and hear things and respond to it,” Ocasio-Cortez told the crowd.”
I genuinely cannot think of how she could have handled this better or more gracefully.

By not supporting genocide.
When and where exactly did she support genocide…? Cite your sources.
I’m appalled and aghast at what Israel is doing in Gaza. But as far as I’m aware, she’s been a staunch critic of Israel in this matter, not a supporter. And I have receipts for that. She’s literally been targeted by smear campaigns by other members of the Democratic party, over her stance of condemning Israel’s actions in Gaza, and not just from members of the establishment/gerontocracy.
If you’re trying to use her immediate contemporaneous response to the attack, on the day of the attack (which I believe essentially every single politician in the country also condemned), as the pivotal evidence that she “supports” genocide: you’re obviously arguing in bad faith.
"well, gosh people are yelling at the fascists, and now they're yelling at the people yelling at the fascists - I guess those two positions must be basically identical!" - the hypothetical idiot this paper hopes will find this article.
hypothetical
sigh
If only...
“I want to know what you’re doing about the genocide in Gaza!” the woman shouted, pointing at Ocasio-Cortez on the stage. “Shame on you! You’re a liar!”
Jfc. The ML shows up to destroy the democrats while totally allowing the Trump administration to operate unencumbered—as planned to destroy the US from the inside out.
Also, anyone who introduces themselves as a nurse is a total nutcase. I know dozens of nurses. Most of them walk fine line between holding it together and absolute chaos.
Clearly anyone who cares about Gaza is an ML, good point. Quit blaming people who don't like genocide for Trump. This mentality, the way you blame everything on Trump and Russia rather than taking responsibility, ensures democrats will never will again. And I'm so so happy about that considering they're the left wing of fascism and do nothing to stop Trump besides basic party line shit, and how wholeheartedly they supported the genocide of Gaza
"while allowing the trump administration to operate unencumbered" every right wing accusation is a confession
Haha. You heard me. Nice twist.
ML doesn’t care about genocide. They weaponize it to crush the west. This is why none of them criticize Trump for doing nothing. It’s all about dismantling the democrats to create a right wing controlled United States.
If they cared about genocide, we would hear them calling out the genocide all over the world…. But we don’t. If it doesn’t make the US look bad, they aren’t interested.
Biden forced peace upon Israel, strong arming them into a ceasefire.
Trump reopened the war and now has more bombs over the region. And yet it's somehow Kamala's fault for the situation.
How fucking stupid is the Free Palestine group? Answer: not stupid at all. Y'all are fucking malicious at this point and it's time we consistently pointed out the hypocrisy.
This is probably an attempt at making Democrat town halls become as chaotic as Republican town halls, so when the press reports another incident at a GOP event, they can write it off as "no big deal" and blunt the effectiveness of protesting at town halls.
Worse. It's the idiocy of the far left who are getting manipulated into self destructive behavior like this.
Yes there's an element of manipulation here. But there's also the stupidity of allowing yourself to get manipulated by dumb shit you saw on Facebook.
This is just a preview of the resistance we will see next election year. We need to stand firm and build a true coalition to retake the country.
Why is this post title edited (incorrectly) from the article itself?
There have been times I've seen the title of the original article changed after the article had already been submitted. Was very common on Reddit.
Things erupt into chaos. Not disrupt
I would have invited the protester back for the Q&A as a massive power move/give that person a chance.
Then watch them squirm and flub the issue they claim to champion.
Sure but most importantly give people a chance to learn and speak. Imagine if that person was invited back to the Q&A and then spoke their mind, this is a lesson that could be learned and better for those to witness . Good chance there would be feedback. Second lesson could be that feedback. Third, picture the experience everyone is getting in that moment, learning together.
That's much better than someone smoothly championing a shitty issue.
That only works when you have nothing to hide.
Since AOC insisted on waiting for Q&A to answer the question how did she inevitably respond once they got to the Q&A portion? The article doesn't seem to say.
