There were many disheartening moments during the 2024 U.S. presidential campaign for progressives who support Palestinian rights. Yet few were quite as deflating as that moment when the ostensibly progressive, leading member of The Squad, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez stood at the podium at the Democratic National Convention and told the audience that then-Vice President Kamala Harris was “working tirelessly to secure a ceasefire in Gaza and bring the hostages home.”
We knew she was lying. AOC herself knew she was lying. But it was just the message that the crowd—who were more than eager to show their support for the Democrats despite the party’s utter refusal to allow even the most conciliatory and moderate Palestinian voice to be heard—wanted to hear, and they ate it up.
The utterly shameless nature of the lie has now been confirmed by no less than nine officials from Joe Biden’s administration and reported on by Israel’s own Channel 13 news program, Hamakor, which, aptly, translates as “The Source.”
There are more downvotes than up so far, and I can't tell of that's because this is misleading, or because people don't like it- full disclosure I don't know a ton about this situation

This means nothing. "Palestinians deserve to live in peace" is designated as "hate speech".
Because Gaza is only bad when Trump does it. .world is suddenly against the genocide when Trump does it.
When Biden sends more bombs than any president before him, it's actually working really hard on a ceasefire. Please ignore how more money and more weapons are sent each time. Please ignore the pleas for help from victims, they're a psyop or a Russian bot.
And if you ask "Why are we aiding in mass murder?" You're called a single issue voter and they never ended your support in the first place.
Nobody complains when I post one of thousands of fact checks on shit Donald trump says, but the Dems are real touchy.
It's not what you're posting but where you're posting it from and their track record. Post it from a less biased, less sensationalized, more reputable source and I would guess those complaints will largely go away.
Those have all been from credible sources.
