What changed is that mayo Americans uncritically repeat whatever narrative is fed to them by CNN/NBC

Im probably preaching to the choir here but isn't it actually that people are simply creduluous babes and think whatever narrative the media tells them?
I suspect if MSM flipped the narrative on who the 'villains' were most folks would go along.
Some might not even notice the change

  So much of the rhetoric is completely divorced from any material condition. It isn't as though
  picking Team Israel or Team Palestine have any skin in the game. They've just ingested a certain set of media images and narrative, then repeat them uncritically.
  Nothing the folks online do has any IRL impact on the conflict (with the possible exception of some geriatric fucks in the US Senate who will inevitably green-light nuking Gaza to save Jerusalem). Its all just posturing and heckling and getting off on the news of the day.
  Even if we are all just a bunch of freaky stupid fascists, who cares? We don't control anything happening on the other side of the planet. Never did.
- Yeah, the average individual denouncing the actions of Hamas are reacting to headlines that describe them as terrorists and child murderers.

  If MSM rightfully framed it as a rebellion against an ongoing effort to colonize and ethnically cleanse Palestine, then I highly doubt you'd hear quite this many people spouting totally uninformed drivel in support of Israel.
This has probably been said better by others, but if you understand the Ukraine Conflict as a continuation of the Donbass War, you'll see that Western support for Ukraine and Israel both stem from the same belief in the right to occupy and annex.
