One time while I was walking down the street this lady walking the other direction told me I was looking good.
I realize she was just saying it as a "spontaneous act of kindness" sort of thing, but it was like 20 years ago and I remember it.

As I get older I've grown annoyed at the power a truly beautiful woman has over me. It's just a pretty exterior, why should she deserve different treatment than any other nice person? But my heartrate and power of speech don't seem to agree with this unfortunately.
You should read Liking What You See by Ted Chiang. It's a fun little short story.
