Goff's gaffe highlights NZ's Trump sensitivity

Is it really a dismissal level event? I mean, everyone sees how the world is turning....he just said it out loud.

Every expert interviewed has said the same, that it was indeed a fireable offence. Someone holding this position is expected to put politics aside and represent the interests and views of NZ, not smack talk the leader of another country, regardless of how justified that is.

  So talking shit, is not always punished...it is just punished when referring to Trump?
  
  There is a difference in severity between a tweet and a remark made on stage to an audience.
- What makes you think his words did not represent the interests and views of NZ?
  
  Probably in the intrest of not wanting to be tarrifed by our second largest trading partner.
