  • And libs wonder why Bidenomics isn’t wowing voters

  • I’m so glad I’m broke enough my payments are $0.00 a month

  • Anyone know how much the cumulative student debt is in the USA?

    Never mind

More than 45 million borrowers together owe approximately $1.6 trillion

  • "Capital is dead labour, which, vampire-like, lives only by sucking living labour, and lives the more, the more labour it sucks."

  • i was worried that i was going to have to start repayment at the same rate i had been, but the SAVE thing is dropping it to $150 (a reduction of 50%). which, i feel "fortunate" that this is an amount i can get squeezed on and overcome. by that, i mean i can still set something aside each month. but it also makes me realize that i live a poverty lifestyle. i drive a tiny 20+ year old car that i maintain. the clothes i wear are old. i cut my own hair. i don't go places or do things unless it's no/very low cost.

one of the things i have done a 180° in recent years is a commitment to local businesses. i still patronize local businesses on balance, but i used to be a big believer in circulating money locally as an absolute good. the covid thing showed how many local businesses were owned-operated by massive assholes happy to sell out their employees, hoard PPP loans for themselves, but still try and guilt people to pay premium bucks for their bullshit... and then complain openly that "no one wants to work anymore", bust unionization attempts, and decry student loan forgiveness. absolutely zero awareness of what induces or destroys demand.

a lot of small business tyrant restaurants folded and i do not give half a fuck about them. and i'm more than happy to tell MBA-brained local business owners that i can't justify the expense of their products/services because my loan payments have started back up. i'll patronize certain local businesses, but a lot of the ones around here showed their entire asses during covid. you wanted our nuts squeezed? you got it, pal.
