They stopped new registrations. But wbu m why would you want to be there anyway?
I was browsing other instances and it appears that other's are doing similar things to lighten the server load.

Nothing whatsoever, we keep growing organically anyway. Can merely promise not to defederate from anything that isn't outright hostile or child porn.
