Google didn't do wearable tech before Meta, Star Trek did it before both of them.

What year was the tablet? Samsung argued against Apple that they couldn't own the design of the tablet itself because it had been done in 1968 in 2001: A Space Odyssey. Either way, nearly every piece of tech could probably be found first in sci-fi.

- IDK about first for everything as genres go, but sci-fi would certainly be the most comprehensive.
  Shit, glasses are wearable tech if you wanna get technical about it.
  
  And if you want to get differently technical about it hearing aids are. And people with cochlear implants are cyborgs
- Linus Technologies had the write-top in 1987, and the GRiDPad came out in 1989.
  
  Dang, I actually would like a Write-Top, and this technology at that point is impressive to me:
  Using an advanced symbol-recognition algorithm, the Linus ("of or about lines") can convert your scrawls into perfect text at a rate of about 5 characters per second. It recognizes uppercase, lowercase, numbers, and symbols.
  I'm sure modern tablets can do that even better but I haven't used one I really like the feeling of while writing.

Google dropped Google Glass when it wasn't profitable within 40 seconds. I know they're known for having zero patience with projects, but that one still bugs me.

  Stadia was never going to fly, the internet speeds lots of people can get is just too low.
- I think it was more because of the huge backlash surrounding privacy.
  Nobody wants to be filmed all the time just because you hang around with someone wearing Google glasses.

I'm confused by the title. Google Glass came in 2013. Meta didn't release a vr headset until 2019. Not to mention wearables are more than vr/ar headsets. Android wear came out in 2014.
- You are correct. The title is poorly worded. I believe it is supposed to read "Google was not the first to come out with wearable tech before Meta..."

- The android looks pretty upset as well.

There was an ipad befpre apples ipad. From toshiba iirc.
And a tablet too (from microsoft?)
