It's a great story executed well that happens to be set in the Star Wars universe. That's what we need more of.
That and realism. It's a pretty big departure from the bigger than life, fantasy stories of most Star Wars. Shows an honest portrait of how utterly brutal life is in the Galaxy for the regular people on both sides. Andor living in a PK Dick like dystopia, and LT Dedra in the ISB knowing failure is death like "Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy" in space.
It is the first Disney EU story that’s as good as the original EU stories. Most of the Disney stuff feels like Disney stuff. Andor is gritty like the original EU.
