I mean that should have been obvious when they turned a dystopian novel into the bluprint for reality TV. It's called Big Brother for a reason. Movies like The Truman Show and EdTV showed the dark side of being under constant public surveillance and now influencers turn their lifes into reallity TV willingly.
And we absolutely eat that shit up. We donate our money to them, buy their shit, and regurgitate every fucking thing they say as if they were goddamn prophets.
The Truman Show is not a good representation of the realities of influencers semi-permanent visibility.
The choice to do it is the first, and major, difference.
