I thought, I was confused by "mushroom grips", but his crotch being labeled "Special Purpose" definitely beats it...
35 0 ReplyLmao, I thought it was pointing at the seat, but no, it goes right past it lolol
15 0 ReplyPretty sure it's indicating the padded crossbar.

In the movie The Jerk, Steve Martin’s character writes a letter to his mother saying he learned what his “special purpose” was for after having sex for the first time. Presumably, that was the way she explained his penis to him. This must be a reference to that.

I love when vintage finds are still relevant today.

“Fixed gears; steel frame; no brakes. The bike can not coast. The pedals never stop turning. Can’t stop. Don’t want to either.”
6 1 ReplyLOL, that's a fixie. I have a freewheel. My shoes are my brakes.
2 0 ReplyAhh, the movie that solidified my hatred of cyclists.

So I guess you don't want to be awesome.
3 0 ReplyI don't need internet clout to tell me I'm awesome. Has anyone else done a footjam trick barefoot, no injuries?

That shifter is amazing.
5 0 ReplyI wonder who here is old enough to get the reference...
5 0 Replywhat would 10 speed mean here? 2x5?
4 0 ReplyYep, 2x5 seems right. 3x3.33333... would be difficult to implement and 1x10 wasn't a thing back then at least with derailleur

Now is definitely the time to share one of my least useful bits of random knowledge, which is that (this IS related) Nicole Kidman was in a movie in the early 80s called BMX BANDITS.
4 0 ReplyThis looks like the late 80s (or maybe early 90s) and what looks like a freestyle BMX bike with the caption "how to be awesome" - but no mention of Haro or Diamondback? I call bullshit.
3 0 ReplyDon't BMX bikes typically not have gears?
5 0 ReplyHell if I know. Were bikes with gears considered how to be awesome in the 80s or 90s?
2 0 ReplyWhere i live they didn’t have gears, yet they had a gear shifter, just for the cool factor, I guess
1 0 ReplyNo gears, brakes in the middle of the rear triangle, low, sloped back seat and taller handlebars.

Pubes shirt?
3 0 ReplyMan, they're not kidding! That bike is awesome.
2 0 ReplyAnd the ball protector 3000
2 0 ReplyHow to be plagued by wedgies, judging by that seat angle.
2 0 ReplyIf only a person's belongings were a true representation of their character.
