I used to hate Miley Cyrus' music and her personality. Now I'm on board. I still don't love her, but I don't mind singing along when her music plays near me and I feel very neutral to even positive about her as a person. As far as child stars go she actually seems surprisingly normal and thoughtful.
Ghost. I always wanted to like them, but could not get into their sound. When they won their Grammy in 2015(?) I called a buddy who was huge into them and asked him to curate a playlist for me. I could not do it.
Then in 2018 I saw them open for Iron Maiden, something about seeing them in person. Papa and the Ghouls had this energy about them. Now they are one of my top listened to bands.
Obnoxious late 90s-early 2000s over the top stuff like Limp Bizkit. I don't know what happened. I always hated it until last year and then it just clicked. Please stay back.
Steely Dan
Black metal as a genre. I could not believe that anyone seriously listened to that. It was either random noise or actually scary stuff (I am the black wizards actually scared me for some reason lol). But after enough exposure and playing Freezing moon myself, I actually got to enjoy it to the point where now I listend to black metal 80% of the time.
In the same vein, "Sons of Winter and Stars" by Wintersun was so unharmonized and terrible to me when I first listened to it, but after a few listens it became one of my favourite songs
I wasn’t a fan of ’80s pop music when it came out. But now there’s a layer of nostalgia, and the weirdness of that music is now fascinating to me. So I might not actually like it still, but now I appreciate it.
I’m not sure about “enjoy”, but I’ve come to appreciate The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, and U2 where I previously couldn’t see the attraction.
I couldn't stand Linkin Park when they were first getting popular. I felt that they were too edgelord-y for me and wrote them off. Now, I wish I had actually given them a shot earlier on.
I felt similar about SOAD
Joy Division. It took several years of being a New Order fanboy before I revisited the earlier band and realized its genius.
I was the other way around! I really liked Joy Division, didn't really care for New Order. Now I like them both, but they stimulate very different parts of my brain.

Weird, I was just about to add my comment in here about The Hip. I used to haaaaate them, like get up immediately and turn the radio station if they came on kind of hate.
Then I remember the music video for Poets came out, and I thought it was okay. Fine, maybe I like one of their songs, but fuck the rest!
And then I heard Bobcaygeon a few years later - I think it was the right place and the right time. A cottage trip, after a few drinks, and somebody I had a lot of respect for said they loved the band. Suddenly Gord wasn't some awful screechy eccentric folk elderly-rock singer, but an eccentric artist whimsically singing about deep Canadiana. I started exploring them more, and now I love them and passionately regret that I will never be able to experience them live.
RIP Gord, you beautiful weirdo.
If any non-Canadians want a glimpse of what Canadian culture is like go take a listen to the top Tragically Hip songs. Also pay attention to the lyrics because some of them are just poetry and magnificent.

Most of the pop music hits I loathed back in the ‘80s as a teenager. Sounds like comfortable nostalgia now and the snobbery I had about what ‘real music’ supposed to be is gone.
I didn't realise U2 once did make great music! Can recommend 1001 albums generator - it's righting a few musical wrongs in my brain :)
As a small child in the 1970s-80s, I felt uncomfortable with Queen.
I think they were just a bit ahead of their time.
Babymetal, it's early days had so much vitriol throw at them and I was right there.

It took me awhile to like Katy Perry's older stuff. This coming from a guy who likes Indie/Punk/New Wave. I haven't listened to her newer stuff.
Oh and same with Billie Eilish.
This comment goes for pretty much the whole grunge genre, but especially Pearl Jam. I hated the vocals. But then I went a few years without listening to the radio at all so I forgot they existed, and got pretty into Rush. I guess Geddy's vocals desensitized me or something because I eventually stumbled on Pearl Jam again and... they actually kicked ass.
Even Flow is such a banger. It's my go to karaoke song. Never fails to get a huge response from the crowd.
Skrillex. At first I thought he was making random noise. But the more I listened, the more I could hear the musicality and innovation of it. Then I learnt he can actually play guitar and piano. The appreciation of Skrillex got me onto other dubby type bands.
Slipknot.
Still don't like the look the band has, but I like the music now.
Korn is almost the same except I still also don't really like their music.
Volume 3 is the only album I ever really liked of theirs. Pulse of the Maggots is still a jam
Didn't dislike them as artists, but when The Haunted released The Dead Eye, I hated it. But I kept listening and it became one of my favorites.
I like a lot of different types of music, my top three artists are John Prine, Leonard Cohen, and Steve Earle. I had NO idea how much I would appreciate Machine Gun Kelly.
Belphegor. My friend used to listen to them in high school a lot when I was just getting into metal, and 10 years later I started giving them a go. Now I've been listening to them with some regularity and have some favorite songs, which also show up in my rotation regularly.
