Independent presidential candidate Cornel West will not make Pennsylvania's ballot after the battleground state's Supreme Court on Monday upheld a lower court ruling, and counties started printing ballots.
Pennsylvania's Supreme Court affirmed the lower Commonwealth Court decision in a one-page order, saying it agreed with Schmidt's office that West failed to file the required affidavits for 14 of West's 19 presidential electors by the Aug. 1 deadline.
These third parties are so bad at filing paperwork it amazes me that anyone thinks they could lead a country…
This guy is not serious, and should be ignored. He's only on the ballot in 15 states. Among other flaws, like taking money from Harlan Crow.
By August, the campaign reported being $17,000 in debt. The campaign was aided by Republican-aligned groups, donors, and lawyers, to get on the ballot in several states including Michigan,[56] Georgia,[57] Virginia, Nebraska, Maine, North Carolina,[58] Arizona[59] and Wisconsin.[59][60] Although West stopped actively campaigning, registered Republicans have signed up to be electors for West in swing states.[11] His campaign had only spent $2,400 on signature gathering between January and June of 2024.
The kremlins not gonna be happy about this, hopefully Stien is enough of a spoiler on her own but i think they aimed to take votes from different demographics and with west trailing stien has been trying to win over more uninformed black voters and getting clowned in the attempt.
We are left with the same two parties that declare "this time we are really going to help the people" and two armies of morons convinced their person is really going to do it! It is literally the same BS every election cycle.
As a west supporter I'm fine with this. Though I'm not fully convinced on the magnitude of the spoiler effect, eg. If 2% want to vote for west that doesn't mean that those 2% vote for Kamala if he's off the ballot, they'll most likely just not vote. The race in Penn seems really tight though so anything to get Harris over the line is good.
If you arent in a swing state ( eg. Margin bigger then 10%) and think Kamala's tacking too far right then id recommend looking into west. He and stein get a lot of slander on here because people are deathly afraid of spoilers but his platform is actually pretty good if you want to do a protest vote. Again in a non-swing state so everyone doesn't come after me for "helping trump"
The way third parties are being shut out this election cycle really highlights how undemocratic the US actually is. Democrats are shutting out their spoilers, Republicans are shutting out their spoilers, you are not allowed to vote for anyone but the two ruling parties.
