Some Texas hospitals will start asking patients' immigration status in November. Florida has had a similar law since 2023.

It's got to take an amazingly un-empathetic person to even consider doing something like that that is obviously going to intentionally discourage people from getting medical care.
Why? It isn’t like we have free health care or anything.
