Tamagotchi are releasing a special version of their iconic toy to celebrate their 28th birthday, and it's got a unique difference!

Next year, Bandai Namco will release a special Tamagotchi Celebratory Egg to celebrate the toy's iconic 90s heritage. This egg, reminiscent of the original Gen 1 animals with 6 collectibles—Mametchi, Ginjirotchi, Maskutchi, Kuchipatchi, Nyorotchi, and Tarakotchi—brings eco-friendliness to a whole new level. Made from recycled eggshells, this Tamagotchi is not only a nod to nostalgia but also promotes sustainability. Priced at £29.99 on Amazon, it's set to remind us of our 90s childhood with a twist! The 28th anniversary is so strange. Like why not wait until 30? They’re probably riding some 90s trendy nostalgia wave sparked by social media or something 🤷🏼♀️
Also, “eco-friendliness to a whole new level” sounds like marketing vomit. Aren’t eggshells compostable? I’m sure “recycling” them in this manner, probably with other plastics, will just relegate them to the plastic trash pile instead.

My daughter has a couple of the newer ones. They go for like $80 but they're pretty cool and much more high tech than what we used to get
