I like it. I'll see if I can come up with something interesting to make them out of. Maybe laser cut and etch some wood veneer? Laser-etched anodized aluminum sheet? Hrm... I'll think on it. Might be a project to take on in the new year ;)
Looks to be a critique of the US’s outward perspective on politics. The character at center frame appears to be gender norm nonconforming, with lipstick, lashes, and stubble. They’re smoking and exhausted, peering at their phone which hosts the Ukrainian flag and a verified Palestinian account. Despite their exhaustion, they still offer a faint smile, indicating dissociation. The little angry or sad guy on the left drinking blood through a straw gives me pause, but death looming over the democracy banner seems on the nose. It seemed transphobic at first glance. Not sure whether it’s intended to be so I erred on the side of caution.
The color palette is a reference to the method Piatnik (a card making company) was using to make Gypsy/Divination cards in the 1850s using screen printing. There were usually no more than 3 layers of color over which the black outline was finally printed ( + the color of the material of the paper). See example:
For the sake of creative liberties, you can see that while I did not resort to using just 3 colors, the divination content series does use same the color scheme.
