FDA approves blood test to screen for colon cancer
The new test could increase the number of people screened for colorectal cancer, especially among adults too young for routine colonoscopies.
I’ve worked in GI. A positive blood test could lead you to pay more for your colonoscopy because it is now diagnostic rather than screening if your results are positive. Check with your insurance to see what the best plan is for you before you accidentally inflate your bill due to trying to play it safe with a lab test before a scope.

The procedure isn't too bad, also, they send you home stoned as balls. But the prep is awful. You have to starve and shit yourself to death, so you're out of commission from that as well. I'd heartily approve a blood test in lieu of all that.
My gastro uses propofol. When they wake you up, you are wide awake. No stoned as balls over here, alas.
