Hiker Diem Le Nguyen vanished Sunday after she became separated from her hiking group while on the Nighthawk Trail in Black Mountain Open Space Park.
In her last call to relatives, the woman said she was hot and in need of water.

Sad to hear.
Never hike alone.
Never hike without a clear plan, with others aware of that plan.
Take plenty of water, take food (emergency rations that can tolerate heat are pretty cheap).
Wear appropriate clothes, have stuff in your pack.
Have a communications plan.
