Shutout to all the white people on the site. All the hate your have received is being countered in exact equal opposite by the mass of love I'm sending you via these words and DMs once I work up the..
It's good to challenge white supremacy in all of its incarnations at all time. It's certainly good to refuse to be proud to be white considering what the concept of whiteness is.
It's another thing to performatively hate yourself in a cocktail of millennial self-deprecation and liberal white guilt. It's not revolutionary, and it's probably not good for you.

Ah but have you considered that I want to self deprecate in a way that aligns with my political values?
It's terrible because if I wanted to be something other than white all the things I might have felt any associated with are claimed by white supremacy. Like, damn. Which is worse being proud white or proud of you british ancestry?
That's not entirely true. There's a lot of folk and other culture that's solidly left wing and associated with the working classes. It's just mostly more english/welsh/cornish/scottish than british specifically.
Even then if you want to enjoy 19th century sea shanties it's fine, there are people to be proud of if you look, like the Reaver (anti slavery) squadron.
They weren't particularly effective and they didn't get anywhere near enough support, but they were enthusiastic and the Kru People were also major participants, as were many released or escaped slaves. It just makes me feel good, thinking about Master and Commander, but they're hunting down slavers and not French Revolutionaries.
I've been trying to deprogram the whiteness out of myself. Like I resent the fucking concept of whiteness and what it has done to me personally and the world generally. Fuck racists for thinking I share any common bond with them based on some phrenology-ass category.
Maybe it sounds weird, but I've found it helps to focus on my actual ethnic "heritage".
