Hey, German here. What the f*** are Americans doing at the other side of the Atlantic? Some of you already know this monstrosity. I did'nt. This is a Ford F650 Truck and when I stepped out of my Youtube Bubble I realized, it was marketed as the "biggest, baddest Truck on the road" for the everyday American. Are you guys serious?! Is the end goal really to drive a Monster Truck to McDs to get a McFlurry? Americas bloodiest wars have been fought in the middle east to secure oil, bombing nations to rubble. And all, for this bullshit? The excess, waste and decadence is mind boggling to me and people on Reddit seriously justifying this by "you know dude I'm 6,4ft. I don't fit in any other vehicle" makes me go up the wall.
That car would terrify me to drive. My wife has a Rav4 which is a "small" SUV and it's too big for me to drive. My Prius is really too big for me. America doesn't do small cars anymore and it sucks.
Rav4's used to be awesome little cars with great visibility, shorter than a Camry and only a bit wider than a Corolla. Now they're basically Town & Country's
Corollas used to be about 25% smaller than they are now, if not more. I had a 1986 Corolla and it was so much smaller. It wasn't a microcar in size or anything, but compared to virtually any car on a U.S. road today, it was very small. I wish dealers would at least have an option to sell.
Fair enough, but my point was that even so-called "compact SUVs" are way too big for me and I wish there were more very small cars. About the only option anymore is a Mini and even they've gotten bigger. Give me an EV version of a classic Beetle or something- and not a jury-rigged one, one made by VW.
I drive an ID.4, and I always feel like I am just a little short on space. My wife has an older Ford Escape hybrid, and it's just a little bigger, maybe a foot longer, and it holds things like Christmas trees, bed frames, etc, better with the seats down than I do. And the number of times I've felt like I was just a few inches too narrow to really pack the car with totes for camping, etc, is frustrating.
I've always had an SUV. I dont think I would function in my everyday life the way I do now with a smaller vehicle. I fill the back seat with the seats down full of packages pretty regularly. I love the car but different strokes for different folks.
