To be fair, there was a time most people DID like him. People forget, but the reason Tesla was innitially sucsessful is it was one of the only good electric cars at the time being sold by a leftist who wants to help the environment. And people loved him, both on reddit and twitter.
Then he went batshit crazy.
Now we're here.

It still gives me a little confident boost when I think about how liberal friends and family admitted that I was right about him the entire time.
The signs where there but people weren’t looking. Even when you explained it to them. It took at least a dozen of major missteps and blunders by him to finally make most people realize what he really is.
They kept telling themselves (and me) his good deeds will outweigh the bad ones when in reality those where cracks in the facade to show what lies underneath. They couldn‘t see the bright red flags for what they are because they thought it‘s about a balance between good and bad, not character qualities that can only lead down one road.
You’re wrong about one thing: He didn‘t go crazy. He always was.

He always showed flashes of arrogance and I had heard working for any of his companies even back in the ”good days” was hell. It’s when he started exhibiting all this stuff publicly in the late 2010s that people understandably started turning on him.
