My great grandpa who lived to be 95: "well after my lunch of a streak, 3 old fashions and half a pack of cigarettes, time to get back to installing phone lines in asbestos filled building!"
Me in my 30s: "my doctor says I need to eat nothing but kale and lukewarm water or I'll die at 50"
ngl the recurring significant labour associated with my job has improved my physical health a lot (and mental health.....somewhat) despite my so-so habits in the rest of life
I work as a mover so a 12 hour walk sounds like....well, a nice walk haha. but I limit myself to 4 days/week and naturally some moves are easier than others
I used to have a 9-5 desk job for quite a while and seppuku nearly occurred at the tail end there. not for me.
I think I got enough old dna in me. My ancestors evolved to wander fields for hours to find nice roots to eat. I think my body still yearns for that lifestyle
