Police arrested Luigi Mangione, 26, after a tip that he had been spotted at a McDonald’s in Altoona, Pennsylvania. Mangione had a gun consistent with the weapon used in the shooting and writings critical of the insurance industry, police said.
“To the Feds, I’ll keep this short, because I do respect what you do for our country. To save you a lengthy investigation, I state plainly that I wasn’t working with anyone,” the document said, according to the official.
It also had a line that said, “I do apologize for any strife or traumas but it had to be done. Frankly, these parasites simply had it coming.”
what kind of "gamer techbro" writes a handwritten manifesto knowing that it makes it so much harder to publicize or replicate? but it makes sense if a cop is hand-copying it from ChatGPT to avoid having to provide online provenance or mock up a believable flash drive (with just this document on it?) and appropriate dates
I too love going to mcdonalds with the 3D-printed gun I did a crime with last week, a handwritten manifesto (to give to the mcdonalds cashier presumably) and a fake ID. I'm certainly the same person that meticulously planned a killing and successfully got away without a trace. /s
