Maybe there's a trans reading of Deus Ex I'm not aware of that is greater than societal acceptance of body modification/choosing one's physical characteristics but if not this is pretty funny:
"Contains subtly pro-Transhumanism content" like uhh that's the whole game and is not the same thing
My thought was they were mixing up being transgender with being transhuman. Like they were intrinsically linking the two. Which like I can see some takeaways there, but Human Revolution is 100% an obvious racism allegory that gives you cybersunglasses. I don't personally remember it having much to say about gender.
That's a bit that I missed. Maybe it is legitimately a bodily purity thing. That's still funny though because it means they're seething over my killer mantis arms in Cyberpunk.
yeah.. I think conservatives see transhumanism as a liberal or globalist conspiracy that undermines religion, I'd assume libertarians are positive about it though
The entire LessWrong cult is obsessed with living forever with superpowers but is also terrified of the idea of gender norms being blurred away into meaninglessness, that sort of thing.
Iirc in the Deus Ex society theres no more Racism and Sexism, instead people hate transhumanists. For some reason they decided to focus on that in HR and the sequels. I believe some chuds/Gamers hate Deus Ex HR because they didn't follow the original Deus Ex and Invisible War's thing about being about Conspiracy Theories, Secret Societies, Aliens and Hacker stuff. They probably think these games were about how epic JC Denton defeats The Jews™ or something like that. When in reality is more like a goofy 2000's RPG game with some unfinished stuff that has some real life stuff mixed with popculture stuff. The game seems like a mix of American leftist anarchism with libertarism.
