- Monarch: Legacy of Monsters
Has anybody been watching Monarch so far, and have any thoughts on the series so far. I've enjoyed the moments where the muto are around, but I'm not entirely sold on the whole shadow organisation tied up with the muto and just generally being kind of generically secretive. I enjoy it enough to see the season out before forming any big opinions, but I am interested on what others have thought so far.

- Jon Stewart’s Apple TV Plus show ends, reportedly over coverage of AI and China
TLDR: Apple wants to keep china happy, Stewart was going after china in some way, Apple said don’t, Stewart walked, the show is dead.
Not surprising at all, but sad and shitty and definitely reduces my loyalty to the platform. Hosting Stewart seemed like a real power play from Apple, where conflict like this was inevitable, but they were basically saying, yes we know, but we believe in things and, as a big company with deep pockets that can therefore take risks, to prove it we’re hosting this show.
Changing their minds like this is worse than ever hosting the show in the first place as it shows they probably don’t know what they’re doing or believe in at all, like any big company, and just going for what seems cool, and undermining the very idea of a company like Apple running a streaming platform. I wonder if the Morning Show/Wars people are paying close attention.

Just wanted to take a second to thank @chase_what_matters@lemmy.world for taking on moderating this community and for actively creating discussions. It's something I miss about reddit, and am a bit sad isn't more of a thing on Lemmy (yet), so I appreciate you taking the initiative and making a space where it can happen.
I know it's not the same without lots of active members and discussion (TBH I'm half tempted to start watching Invasion just to join in), but we have to start somewhere!

- [Meta] What shows do we want to talk about?
Hey y’all,
Since taking the reigns on this community, I’ve essentially been continuing with weekly episode discussions for the shows I already saw people engaging with. But as new ones release, I’m not sure how to gauge the level of interest (Strange Planet, for example).
How are we feeling about the upcoming schedule? The Changeling dropped three episodes recently, we’ve got The Morning Show’s third season arriving this week… should I create threads for these?

Ummm ... I did not know this was being made! I always enjoyed the US Godzilla films (ok, the first/main 2, not sure about Godzilla v Kong).
I think I'm quietly hyped about this. I guess it falls into more of Apple's Sci-Fi focus?
