Magic: The Gathering
- Simp Deck for Rowan
I saw the discounted planeswalker set at my local shop and as a new-player, I already knew my purpose: collect ALL the Kenrith cards. Anything for my waifu.
It's been a couple months now and I've managed to nab a lot of cheap cards and tinker with it. More important than the objective functionality - LOOK AT ALL THE ROWANS WEEEEEEE
The Kenrith twins cost $10 each because they're stamped but luckily the other ones we could find weren't more than a couple each. Couldn't find a Huddle Up foil which makes me a smidge sad.
Won't get to test this new build until Monday. Will Kenrith joins, complicating my 60-card deck. I tried to overcome my blue mana issues through some artifacts and unique land opportunities. I thought it'd be better over more blue basic lands as they're mana-fluid, giving me a ton more flexibility at any point like when I've cast my 5 blues and the basic heavily drops in value. Also they can help me summon Kenrith's Transformation when I get to 4 colour madness so it's future proofing.
... or something, idk I'm whack-o. :)
Thoughts? Insights? ... Flash me your Rowans?

They do release (for now) in that order.

Thoughts? Do you think these will allow some new decks to rise in viability?
- favourite theme?
I'm relatively new to magic and I've been enjoying all the various tribes/types/groups/themes you can build around. I like that you can build a cat deck or a dragon deck or a crab deck or an angel deck or a vehicle deck and all work with lots of options. What's your favourite theme and what are some of your favourite cards for that theme?
- The One Ring has been foundgizmodo.com Magic: The Gathering's Rarest Lord of the Rings Card Has Been Found
Some lucky person just became a millionaire by opening a pack of cards. That’s because it has been revealed that the rarest, most sought-after card in the entire new Lord of the Rings expansion of Magic: The Gathering has been found.
Honestly a little surprised that WoTC didn't intentionally delay printing this card for longer. I'm not sure everyone even has their full inventory yet.
- Last played in 2013
So I'm getting back into it, or that should be I'm going to, and have some questions.
When I last played to any extent there was the stack, that seems gone. So where are the rules these days?
I note also my dci number is now meaningless, is there no ranking anymore?
I live in the middle of nowhere (Scotland) so wonder if there is anywhere I can check up local clubs?
Also any suggestions on where to find deck ideas and where should I start, core and which expansion's?
- Does anyone actually like the "Momir" thing?
I'm wondering if anyone actually finds this format enjoyable. Seems like an RNG fest to me with very little interesting decisions :/

There's a more featureful Magic community (actually several) hosted on

Lately I’ve been getting back into magic after a 3-4 year hiatus and have been building edh decks but have been struggling to find cuts to slim down my decks to 100 cards. Currently I’m rebuilding one of my all time favorites the locus god. Got it down to 108 cards then sleeved them all up and gold fished until I cut it down to 100 removing the cards that felt lack luster that seemed to work well. What are y’all’s favorite ways to make final cuts or find new cards?

- cheapest format?
I'm looking to play casually (in person) with some friends and we were wondering what the cheapest format to start buying for would be? And what might be some good pick ups (we have the starter decks but want some more variety) thanks
- Does anyone play Torgaar? Looking to improve my listwww.moxfield.com Torgaar Goes Halfsies - Commander (Torgaar, Famine Incarnate)
A deck created using the deck building website, Moxfield.
I like Torgaar as my Mono Black Stuff deck and am looking to trim the fat a bit. The Burglar Rat effects are up for cutting but I'm not sure what direction to go in.
Painful Quandary seems cool for when I set something to 20 with Torgaar?

Future
I know Reddit is...in flux so I figured now is as good a time as any to release a dump like this. I hope it's something people want.
In the future I may write custom software that would let me scrape a database of links and do every step automatically but that would take longer than the one whole day it took me to do this.
Enjoy!
- Welcome, planeswalkers!
I created this to see if folks are interested in migrating from Reddit's /r/MagicTCG. I'll gladly turn over moderation to people more organized than myself.
