I thought I got banned lol
It was down for me too!
Yeah Rosa Parks was just annoying 🙄 didn't do anything
Hm I can't really tell if the moderation has a particular political bent because I can't see the deleted comments.
How do you look at the mod log
Not really a personal attack, if that's not your take ... cool! Just pointing out the heat I've seen over protests, and the hypocrisy of complaining that leftists don't do anything. Leftists do participate in public politics, but people largely complain when we do.
There was a post with a ton of people complaining about blocking the Golden Gate Bridge. Let me guess ... you have a problem with "disruptive" (read: effective) protests.
Why would anyone judge you for divorcing a man who abused you and then abandoned you? Get a divorce and disentangle from anyone who gives you shit for it.
Yeah, there's an interest in Y2K era tech amongst some gen-Z people. I think it's cool, idk why you're hating.
Oh whelp yeah that explains it
Even if simplified, thank you for explaining! I wonder if mastodon has had a similar thing happen ... (I was never much of a Twitter user so I never became active). Like, is this a result of the fediverse in general or just something unique to Lemmy
Are the defederation campaigns the reason people call me lemmygrad? I only joined a month ago and people hate me for existing and not repeating their echo chamber.
It's honestly depressing. This is very easily the most right-wing/centrist social media site I use. I love the format of reddit, but hate the redditors. I thought Lemmy would be better but it's not. And it's not just that people disagree, they call everyone who disagrees a bot/troll/shill etc, and they freak out if you use swear words like.... it's the worst of tone-policing and performative liberalism all in one place.
I kinda want to start a ShitLemmySays lol, that was easily the best part of Reddit when they were active.
Anyway blocking you bc you're honestly just like, harassing me at this point? You're just mad I exist? Weird
lmao you're mad I said "fuck" okay
Is "centrist" insulting to you? Why do you align yourself with politics whose very basic descriptor draws out this much vitriol?
Again, I'm not insulted by you calling me grad because I don't really know much about it and only hear about it from pissed off conservative Dems/centrists. Anything they hate is bound to be kinda good lol. What I feel is more like the bemusement/pain you feel watching Michael Scott.
You guys complain when people protest and then you complain when people vote.
Sounds useful, but not at all worth the amount of energy being used to produce AI. You could just use that energy to feed/house people who could do the labor of denoising.
"Fucking centrists" isn't name-calling, it's an extremely appropriate labeling of the ideology, spoken with disdain.
And you literally called me "grad"? Which like, is it so hard to believe that leftists just exist and aren't in these random instances you've decided to hate? And even if I was, why would that matter? Like idk much about lemmygrad except apparently there are leftists there and people hate them. It's not insulting just confusing for me and embarrassing for you.
The poster didn't say the phrase "dumb liberal", they said that liberals are siding with fascists which they absolutely are with their unwavering support for our president funding a genocide and repeating the lies that campus protests are anti-Semitic.

Violence erupted at UCLA's pro-Palestinian protest on Thursday as police cleared the encampment.

watched some of the livestreams last night. the protestors were peaceful, and repeatedly and loudly telling each other not to be violent, not to throw things.
Cars were stopped and chains were used to block traffic lanes on the famous bridge. Protesters also blocked traffic in Chicago, New York City and Seattle.

The island home to Hawaii's capital may be surrounded by ocean, but years-long drought conditions, tourist activities and contamination are jeopardizing the island's only source of freshwater.

> In Hawaii, one of the most important sayings is ola i ka wai, "water is life" — a phrase that not only sums up what it means to exist on an island, but what it means to live, period. But now, one of the largest of the island chain's land masses is facing a triple threat to its sole freshwater source, and if it isn't addressed soon, one community member says, "we're in deep trouble." > > Despite being surrounded by seemingly endless ocean, freshwater on Oahu, the third-largest of Hawaii's six major islands, is not easily accessible. The island relies on an underground aquifer for its water supply. Replenishing that aquifer is a decades-long natural process, as it takes a single drop of water roughly 25 years to make it there from the sky. > > And recent years have seen compounding problems: less rain, leading to significant droughts, and repeated jet fuel leaks and PFAS chemical spills contaminating water systems. All of this significantly limits available water use for locals, many of whom say tourism is only worsening the situation. Just months ago, the world's largest surfing wave pool opened up on the island — filled with freshwater.
By refusing to cover a new U.S. shipment of vast quantities of 2,000-pound bombs to Israel, the Times gave a boost to the process of normalizing the slaughter in Gaza, as if this was unnewsworthy.

Israel has been using the distraction of the Gaza invasion to seize land in the occupied West Bank and attack Palestinians. The New York Times is ignoring the story.

You know it's bad when CNN is cited as having more left reporting than NYT. NYT doesn't want to upset their liberal Zionist reader-base.

Insane that people will try to say this is a minority movement. Inspiring news from Wisconsin.
