Because they found out that if there is a large unhappy with their life, it's a lot easier to sell them a lie that promises a "solution" to their every problem. Same thing is happening in Europe, just a bit delayed.
I still use it sometimes, but ohhh boy it can be a wreck. Like I've started using the Creation Kit for Bethesda games, and you can bet your ass that anything you ask it, you'll have to ask again. Countless times it's a back-and-forth of:
Me: Hey ChatGPT, how can I do this or where is this feature?
ChatGPT: Here is something that is either not relevant or just does not exist in the CK.
Me: Hey that's not right.
ChatGPT: Oh sorry, here's the thing you are looking for.
and then it's still a 50-50 chance of it being real or fake.
Now I realize that the Creation Kit is kinda niche, and the info on it can be a pain to look up but it's still annoying to wade through all the shit that it's throwing in my direction.
With things that are a lot more popular, it's a lot better tho. (still not as good as some people want everyone to believe)
Hmm on Reddit I mostly lurked, but on Lemmy, I actually made a community, so I quickly went from a lurker to a mod. And since the community had to have some kind of content, I had to post and be more active in replying.
it's kinda weird to me that some people are ?excited? about it. it's Meta, it's the Zuck Suck. it's a twatter clone, and we all know how's that going after another rich twat took it over, and isn't it already full of the "crazies"? like to me, it has all the hallmarks of being just another soulless cash grab by another megacorp to take twatter's place, not that it's surprising. so it's a resounding no from me.
The state of certain subreddits was abysmal. Damnthatsinteresting, mildlyinteresting and
all the others were just the same thing reposted and crossposted.
wait are you talking about the right to be forgotten?
